It sucks it happened, but you should have double checked them (I sure would if I had hood pins) before you drive away from any place.

To fix it right you will have to have it cut out and a new panel installed. It's not that bad if you have the stuff to fix it. I'll look around the shop and see if I have a black cowl cover but I dont think I do. I got a guy local that may be able to fix it, I'll stop by and ask him tomorrow

I found out my car had about 6" of Bondo in that area when I bought it!! I removed the cowl screen, put a Porta-Power and a 4x4 in there with a spreader head and slowly worked it out, got it to 1/8 of filler and wiped it and painted it(of course bodywork in the middle) but I never cut into my cowl, just took it slow and did it right. I have a good fitting glass hood with no pins, IMO pins are ugly, ANY pins are ugly. I would rather get a GOOD glass hood with support and make it fit right.

ya I try to look at my hood before I go anywhere to check the pins cause I have heard of this before. I keep a spare set in my glove box just in case some jerk steals mine. thinking about getting the locking ones though since mine are all rusty now. but who knows.
