Hey guys,
I'm pretty sure I haven't posted a formal intro so here goes. I'm John McBride from the Buford, GA area. I currently have two 5.0 Mustangs - My street/strip 1985 5.0 LX Notchback and my 1988 Mustang GT daily driver (300 miles minimum/week). I've had the '85 notch now for about 12 years, still only 73,000 on the clock and it's a factory 5.0 LX 5 speed car. Bought it with only 50,500 original miles for $5000. It was flawless. I have too many mods to type but it's going to get a new paint job, and then I can put her back together here hopefully in about a month. I've had my '88 GT now for almost 2 years. Bought it for about $3700 with only 97,000 original on it. All stock minus the cherry bombs and the Ram air hood. A week after I bought it I took the cherry bombs off and put on a respectable cat back with a MAC 2.5" catback. It's also gone through a few mods but haven't opened up the original motor or trans yet. Did put in a new 8.8 and a bunch of suspension and brake mods. I'm going the road handling route with this car but it will still find it's way to the dragstrip.
This was my first 12 second run with my 85 LX on the old crate motor, stock suspension and a drag radial - 12.93 @ 105mph with a 1.85 60 ft. - I was still getting wheel hop and losing some traction. If I had a suspension under it like I do now it'd run probably another 2/10s better.

And here's the 88 GT I drive to work everyday. I took the bullitts of the 85 and put them on the 88. You'll also see a pic of the Billet Specialties Street Lite Drag wheels on the 88...they are going on the 85 after paint...

Here's a link to my site www.midniteoctane.com which shows some of the freelance design and rendering work I do.
I also am a product development (designer) guy at GMP Diecast. I managed all the 1987-1993 1:18 Mustangs from photoshoot to production. I also manage all the custom versions of the 85-86 tooling and the newer 87-93 tooling. Got some good ideas for some killer fox body models or just need any info let me know.
Thanks,
John
