If North Carolina is like South Carolina, and Florida (and who knows what other states?), it won't cost you a/thing!

I "BROKE" mine a few months back (MY ERROR) when trying to remove my rear view mirror...actually took a CHUNK out of it! No problem...called my agent telling him I needed to replace my windshield...he asked if there was anyone I wanted to request (no questions as to HOW, what HAPPENENED, etc...), or if he wanted me to get him to send someone out off his list.

I called some folks I used in the past...they called the insurance company to confirm I had insurance so they wouldn't try to collect upon completion...they came out...replaced the windshield with no questions asked...I signed the bill, and they left! :)

Don't you have to have comprehensive coverage, not just the state required insurance coverage?

Ughhhhhhhhh...good question! :) If SO, then I've got it, but never really thought about it. I maybe have only broke the glass on vehicles that have had comp on it...good question :) It's worth him just puttin' in a call to his agent, unless he already knows he'll have to cough up the $$'s and is just tryin' to get the best service for the best price.

I've only gotten one windshield here because I had to I broke the windshield on my taxi the day before JPD had to inspect it. Cost me $290 on a 92' Crown Vic. I found the number on the internet for a mobile installer. Every other time I've gotten windshields I've just driven that particular car to New York City to visit my mom and get them brand new installed for $100. Close to $300 is what I've been quoted in town for new glass. Eastside auto salvage has used glass for about $75 and $100 for installation but that is if they have what you need. If you know how to do it yourself you can pull your own at Foss auto salvage for like $30-$40.

I used to work at Foss I got laid off in October. At the time there were about 7 fox bodies. 2 of them were coupes but they were all 4- cyl cars. If you need body parts or interior stuff you should be good to go. There are 2 5.0 explorers out there also I started taking the intake and heads off one but didn't go back to finish. i was the guy that did inventory and decided what stayed in the yard and what got crushed so I basically kept every mustang that came in as long as the ******* in the loader or crane didn't destroy them.
