View Full Version : Question bout 4 eye 5 lug swap

I have my wife's 84 lx vert and am wanting to 5 lug and lower it. The vert is a v6 model. I hope to install my 8.8 under it which is already 5 lug but i am wanting to know what i need to do to get the front done. I already have my lincoln rotors and i am gonna be using the 96 cobra wheels on her. I saw the thread for the 86 car but am wondering how to go about it on this one. BTW have the ford racing c springs and tokico shocks and struts to go on it too.....

I had to use ranger rotors for my 83 GT with the mustang seals and stuff

Be better to go ahead and install some 87-93 V8 spindles/calipers so you can use the 11" MARK VII Rotors you already have.

Yes but you have to use the ranger cap. like billy said the 87 up brakes are much better. I will upgrade mine to sn95 soon for better stopping power.

I do have the correct spindals and brakes that i can put on there but will there be any geometry issues?

Shouldn't be. Only thing I can think of different is the width of the mounting flanges on the struts being slightly different on the old struts vs the 87 ups.

If i am using new tokiko struts for the 87 - 93 then i should be good right?

Yes you can. The rotors I used came off a 92 ranger.
