I keep having trouble with the 91. Sometimes it just cuts off for no reason, or takes a couple of key cycles to crank. I am thinking it is in my fuel pump relay. I noticed it doing it when my mechanic moved my seat and hit the relay, when I hit a really hard bump it tries to cut off for just a second. So I am thinking can I do away with the relay and run the pump straight to a toggle switch?

Why not just replace the relay?

I have several times. I just can't get it to ground good for some reason.

Have you tired to cut the ground wire and run it yourself to a new ground? If that ground isn't good that might mean that the ground for your computer isn't good either. Might want to check all your grounds.

I had to replace my fuel pump relay connector......could be the source of your problem.....I would replace that before I ran a toggle switch for it

Yes I did, the only thing I had to do with mine is join the two pink/black wires as the connector I got was slightly different than mine.
The part # is 3U2Z-14S411-UEA it also has a Motorcraft part number WPT-566. Think I paid like $22.00 for it. You can go to your local Ford dealer and they should have a book of electrical connectors you can look at and try to match up
