Beautiful Saleen,:yes1: but for that amount of $$$, I would have a new Whippled 5.0 paid for with $$ left over sitting in the garage.

For the history it's worth it, but man what I could build with 41k. I don't even want to know what the reserve is.

05-14-2011, 11:46 AM
why do you spend 45k on this car because in about 10years this car will be worth about 100k so it is an investment not just a car

I wouldn't even think about it as an investment, maybe just some place to keep your money safe and possibly get it all back.
It sure hasn't risen in value since 1993, look into what this car sold for new and what it's going brings now. If you bought it new 18 years ago, it sure wasn't the best investment, I know I could have made a lot more off of the money that bought the car in 18 years time.:yes1:
So, why do you think it will be worth 100K in 10 years?:dunno:

That's 45K with a week to go and you have had 30 bidders and the car has not met reserve. If I have all of this right by 5/21/11 , if history and trends repeat themselves, this car should go off north of 50 grand easily. I think it's worth more than the Tim Allen Fox recently for sale @ 80K- dream on. I believe the last 93 Cobra R I saw went for about 80K. Saleen, last of the fox bodies, Vortech blower, 9 produced, probably 7 remaining, < 4k miles, there is no down side.

Very nice! I wouldn't want a 2011 5.0 because of the taxes you would have to pay every year just to tag it!!!!!:twocents:

Last of the Saleen Foxes, Vortech blower, <4K miles, 9 built 7 remaining. The collectibility of this car is through the roof and the owner knows it. 65K and we still have 3 days of bidding to go. I think this car will surpass the 93 Cobra R and become the top seller Fox [ for now ]. I think we are looking at the first 100K Fox.

Hard to say since the car is no longer for sale. Apparently the owner pulled it before the auction ended. I wonder if someone bought it directly from the owner instead of bidding, or if the owner was just trying to see how high it would go?

The owner didn't pull/end the auction early, it just never met the reserve and ended. If they would have ended it early, they would have had to cancel all the bids. If you look at the bidders, either there was some shill bidding the car, or people just playing games. The person with the 1 feedback was most likely the shill bidder.:yes1:

67K and didn't meet reserve. If 67K was close to the reserve I'm sure the owner would have said the reserve has been met and sometimes the bidding will take off since bidders now know the car will be sold. Since that's not the case, I have to assume the seller is looking @ something way north of 67K. Extremely rare car, if I were the seller and could afford to wait/hold out I would.
