Did run it alittle hot today when the water pump gasket went out.Could it have stuck my thermostat open. Is that the reason im not getting hot. Talked to Bones on the phone he said it was.

Yeah thats what that sounds like ................the stock thermostat is a 195 degree....your best bet is to get a ford thermostat......mine was acting like it was stuck open.....in reality the one in there was too small for the opening!

When you installed in into the thermostat housing did it fit snug or was it loose?

Sounds like a T-Stat stuck open. If you get a new one, use a pot of water and a thermometer to see if it opens properly (correct temp) before putting it in the car. I have bought brand new ones that were not operating properly.

It's ok.........just asking because the OEM thermostat from Ford fits right into the thermostat housing and doesnt move......so it wont slip out of place.

no. but its so cold out right now would that change anything.I think my t stat is messed up. let run for about 30-45 and drove it around and you can take the rad cap off and the water is warm but not hot enough to burn you. But i do have heat still. So i dont no lol. First stang i had i drive all the time. Other were just projects or drag.

well it's possible that it's so cold that the car isn't heating up but i kinda doubt it. long as you got heat then screw it LOL. although some say it's important to at least get the car to hit 180* (??) so it runs in closed loop mode.

did you just fill the car up with straight water? sometimes that will make it run a lil colder. but i'd advise adding in some sort of water wetter or something to the water to keep it from rusting the lines and motor. also, if your car is sitting outside in this freakin cold weather you may want to add some antifreeze or you might pop that block.

Even with it being cold outside, it should still warm the motor up to what ever the thermostat degree is.

guess the t state got messed up when it run hot. Its not a ford or any aftermarket t state just replacement one. That may be the problem

Do like I said above, and test the new t-stat before putting it in.:yes1:
