Hi guys,

I was made aware of some database errors over the course of the last three days. Initially, it was isolated to one area of the site - and then today we experienced quite a few other errors and on different thread/forums. So here's what we found out... and what we did to fix the issues.

After completing a database repair, the readout showed that there were more then a few threads whose datafiles were corrupted. How they got that way or what exact threads were effected I do not know at this time (I did save a copy of the database so I can research this later)... but one thing was certain.... this should not be occurring.

The database repair fixed the problem - however preventing it from occurring again led me to upgrade the version of vBulletin to the final version of 3.7.x (we were on 3.7.2 - now on 3.7.5). With any luck - these issues will not crop up again.

Special thanks goes out to 93volpe (http://www.southeasternfoxbodies.com/forums/member.php?u=35) for his help in this matter. I didn't get home from work tonight untill about midnight, and really didn't have a lot of time to mess around (I need sleep too :lol1:) He notified me of the problem, what he was doing & the pages of the site that were giving him errors - and also copied down the error message itself and pasted it into the PM. This information allowed me to diagnose the problem in a very short time and complete the upgrade in less then 1 hour. Thanks again buddy - that stuff really saved our asses.:thumbsup2:

I have been getting this error message over the last couple of days sometimes when I try to open a thread and when I try to reply. Not always, just a few times.

I now have the site setup to send me an email anytime here is a database error... so I get notified of the event and get a detailed error discription of what occured. Since I only set this up 2 days ago, I can only say that there has not been any errors over the last 48 hours. I just wanted to let you know that these error are now being monitored - so if one occurs I'll be on it as soon as I can - it's all good :yes1:
