Just get some wire and relocate the IAT to the CAI for a better read and all done.

This is a explorer or mountaineer lower correct? Because my GT40 intake has a place for a ACT sensor.

The ACT or IAT is the Air Charge Temp or Air Intake Temp sensor, have nothing to do with the temp guage. But I reloacted my IAT to the cold air intake pipe by drilling and tapping it to the size of the sensor and the spliced in about 18-24" of wire to move the plug to the IAT, you cant wire it up backwards, just a resistor...

Are you talking about Air Charge Temp or Coolant Temp? Both need to be there for the ECM to respond correctly. The Coolant Temp Sensor is more important.

i've heard some people say that if you relocate it to the cai it wont read right? is that true?

The pcm is programed to read the air charge in the intake not the CAI. Will it run ok if you put it in the CAI 99% of cars that would be a yes, but it can cause some cars to run poorly. Some people just stick in the inner fender and have no problems just keep in mind it might cause a problem.

I had my IAT laying under the filter on my 95 for a couple months, then finally got it in the intake pipe for a couple months, didn't ever notice a change, but I think he's referring to the coolant temp. sensor... The lower intake should have a bung for it somewhere, mine was the exact same as the 95 lower intake... it was off a 96/7 explorer...
