So would these be stud mount or pdestal mount. They are TFS 1.7s! I dont know, and it helps me to learn by seeing it. If you can see the difference in these pics. And it is an auction on ebay, and I would like to buy, but dont know if its right for my application. The tfs are for sale, and the Cranes I had on my factory ported heads on my first car, are the different type mounts and if so how do you tell?

They would be considerde Stud Mount. The Locks are for adjusting the valves and then locking the rockers in that specific position.
How much is he asking?

Im bidding on both, the TFS are for 81.00 and the Cranes are for 50.00 so far, I had 1.6 cranes just like these on factory ported and polished heads on my old car. So good deals are out there.

I was looking at some a few months back and they went for over 115-130 by the end of the deal, about 4 sets... so I said screw it and kept the 1.6 stockers...
Good luck with the auctions :)

So can you change pedestal mount to stud mount or would it even be worth it, if it is possible. I know now what the difference is but now I'm wondering which is better and can they be converted. Oh and the Scorpions are effin awesome, but I can't afford em!! I raced those cranes for two years shiftin at 6000 so I know they'll be good for my application. But maybe in the future I can upgrade to the Scorpions.

Crane sells a conversion kit, to change from pedestal to 7/16 stud mount rockers.

Here it is if anyone else needs it. Notch left the link for Crane above.
Convert your engine the easy way.
These rocker arm guideplate conversion kits from Crane allow you to convert engines with pedestal-mount rocker arms into adjustable-type valvetrains, without machine work or cylinder head removal. Each of these kits includes guideplates, guideplate inserts, studs, a stud installation nut, and instructions. These kits are intended for mild performance applications using hydraulic lifter or hydraulic roller cams. They're not recommended for competition use.

Honestly, I would just run the pedestal mount rockers. I was thinking of using the conversion kit on the Eldelbrock heads. But bought the set of Scorpion pedestal mount instead.:yes1:

Well I was sort of thinkin the same thing, but the only thing that bothered me was both Summit and Crane both say that Stud mounted offers adjustablility, and that creates less friction, which makes more horsepower. But then again, its probably minute amounts of power they're talkin about.

At the level your talking about, it doesn't really matter. Put the money that you would spend on the conversion kit, into porting the heads.:yes1:
