I just purchased a set of GT-40 (F3ZE-AA) heads for my 92 nat asp. car. I want to have them ported as well I think, and read that with the b-cam it would be best to use 1.72 rockers. So the question is does anyone know for sure if they fit and port or no port???

Yes it will work. Go with a TFS Sage 1 cam, before a B cam.:yes1: Porting will help out a lot. Get in touch with Greg, at XSR Cylinder Heads (site sponsor). He does excellent work.:thumbsup1:

I love TFS but I have a B-303 cam on hand will it just create too much lift? I'm just trying to not have to buy a new cam. And I already know and love the sound of the "b". So will the TFS cam give me the sound I want and still be good in the future for a mild power adder and more fuel? And while on the subject, how bout the Anderson N-41?

If you already have the B cam, then use it.

But if you do spend the money on a cam and can afford it, get a custom ground cam from who ever does your head work. It's prolly the best $$$ you can spend.

Thanks so much, ****, I just started the whole forum thing and I love it. You guys are quick and nice. Not treating me like an idiot and think I've never done this. We all can learn something from each others experiences. So THANK YOU, I hace the B cam and will use it first, if I want more radical or just somethin new I'll go TFS or Custom Ground.

Helping each other out, is one of the main reasons we started this site. So don't feel afried to ask any question, no matter how dumb you may think it is. Some one here will have an answer, or help you find it.

We have the TFS Stage 1 in the wife's 90GT with a ported set of 69 302 heads that XSR did the work on. Car has a nice little lick to it, and some great low end power.

Do they have three bars or 4 on the front of the heads? Also the no P's will have GT stamped in them by the front rocker area. The P's have GT40 stamped there.

The heads have three bars! Dunno if thats a good thing, great thing, bad thing, or horrible thing. I saw the pics after I replied Notch, sorry, these are obviously non-p heads, but I'm confident with a little custom porting and polishing that these will be great.

IMO, they are better since with the P's you usally have to run a header made for the P heads.

thats good cause I have a set of BBK Equal lengths at the shop waitin on the heads to get there.

You won't have a problem with those headers, and heads.

I made that mistake when I bought my heads. Thay are the P heads and I had a brand new pair of headers that I couldn't even use. Oh well, I got a set of FRPP ceramic coated header for $125.00 so I didn't really lose any money.

I too would talk to Greg at XSR about a port job on those GT40 irons. There's a lot out there that'll flow more, but they'll be nice with some quality port work, and will provide a nice base for some fun for your buildup. The TFS I is a better cam than the B, but as stated above, since you have the B already it's kind of hard to argue with that. The factory ratio on our rockers is 1.6, so going with a 1.7 roller rocker will net you a gross valve lift somewhere around .512 or so. That should make for a nice combo when combined with a good intake, and I'd recommend Scorpion roller rockers for it. I use them on my car and love 'em. They're not too expensive, and you'll need the pedestal mount versions not the stud mount ones. Let us know how the install goes !

Well I knew about the lift with the 1.7 rockers but, now my question is exactly what it the difference between the two types of mounts(stud vs. pedestal). I've always known there was a difference but its never been shown to me. Also what, if anything, should I do about swapping the springs to prevent valve float?

pedestal mount are factory bolt down style and stud mount are adjustable.

Yes, you should upgrade the valve srings. TFS makes a nice kit.
