Check the codes, and see what code is being thrown. It could be a few different things.

You hooked a scanner up and no codes were shown/stored?

If the CEL(Check Engine Light) is on there are codes stored in the PCM. Unless you have a shorted wire between the PCM and the light, doubt it.

Sounds like your antenna filter is clogged up.LMAO:lol1:

when the CEL is on you'll need to hook a scanner up and read the codes...........could be a few things.....mass airflow sensor, coolant temp sensor......and some other things as well.

Tune-up, fuel filter, fuel pump, TFI module, stator, etc... Hard to tell with out codes.

If you dont have access to a scanner to pull the codes, then go to a local parts store. They can pull the codes for youfor free. Then we'll be able to point you in the right direction...

Once you get the code numbers from it, we can give you an idea of what needs to be done...

That's precisely the point, reader I have is obd 2, have to do the mustang the old skool way since its obd 1... :)

If you dont have a scanner for it, take it to the parts store. they will read the codes for you for free...

1sxyfox
01-18-2009, 02:25 PM
none of the parts stores can read them cause all they have are obd 2 scanners they don't use the 1's anymore you have to buy your own if you want to scan it.

You don't need a scanner to run the test. Makes it easier, but can be done without a scanner.

ya i know you don't need a scanner i was just sayin everyone was tellin him to take it to the parts store to get it scanned and i was just sayin they don't use the obd 1 scanners at the store anymore.

But the scanners they use will (can) still read OBDI. Not just OBDII.

ok its shows a 67 32 41 ?

1sxyfox

32-EVP circuit has intermittently failed below minimum voltage of 0.24 volts.
41-HEGO sensor circuit indicates system lean (right side). or No HEGO switching detected always lean (right side).
67-Neutral safety circuit failure. or A/C circuit was on during KOER Self-Test.

Sounds like the MAF might be going bad.

What meter are you running (injector size)?

strokedlx
01-18-2009, 03:20 PM
stock 19lb

Notch93
01-18-2009, 03:27 PM
stock 19lb

Find someone who has a stock meter laying around (or is willing to let you try theirs), and swap it out and see if that takes care of the problem.

ok i'll make some phone calls. thanks.this sh*t will give you a headache

well if you need a good one that works and that is your problem i got a stock one that works great that i'll sell.

Notch93
01-18-2009, 03:40 PM
If it is the meter, I also will have a 75mm ProM for 19lb injectors coming off my car next week.

See if you can find someone local, that will let you try one, before buying one though.

Actually after thinking about this, the EVP is the sensor on top of the EGR valve. Thats what happens when you don't get any sleep.:lol1: Sorry for the brain fart.:yes1:

http://fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=35

I would start there, before the MAF.

1sxyfox
01-18-2009, 03:54 PM
ya i would def start there, and if it is the mass air, then i would take 40 plus shipping.

strokedlx
01-18-2009, 04:02 PM
ok i'll let you know if that is what it is. would it hurt yo take the egr valve off the car?

1sxyfox
01-18-2009, 04:17 PM
just replace it,i don't think they are very much.

Sounds to me like the egr solenoid .Its on the pass front strut tower,If tou have a haynes manual look in emissions sec 6-4.
I had the same problem ,swapped one out of one of my parts cars and it stopped.

i lied about the codes my fault, i got those off the web site posted now after i got off my lazy but and lookin at the manual, a code 32 is - canister or EGR valve control system, a code 42 is- fuel mixture lean, and a code 67 is- air conditioner clutch switch circuit

would that make the computer give the motor more gas and making me smell the fumes?

1sxyfox
01-18-2009, 06:26 PM
here is my diagnosis, your egr valve is messed up which is causing the fuel to lean out on the car which is throwing your code 41 then when your code 41 is getting thrown, it is causing your code 91 to get thrown, there for fix your code 31 which goes back to the egr. and put new o2's in just to be safe that is if you have the money.
