hey guys when i fill the tank full. i put the car in the garage and i smell gas really strong everytime the tank is full. what is causing this.

mine does that but im to lazy to but a gasket where the sending unit goes into the tank.And the fuel line from the door to the tank. Look there too.

there is a canister on the right ft inner fender that the vent line from the tank runs....the big black square one...make sure that the vent line is on it...

after you fill it up............look under the right rear where the filler neck goes into the tank......chances are that grommet that goes where the neck goes into the tank is dry rotted and causing it to leak......mine does that so hopefully I will get it changed before march

Its the last one, its leaking, drop the tank, preferable empty and replace it, not that hard, just time consuming.

It goes on the top of the tank near the fuel pump, but they don't leak, I've never seen one leak...

A friend of mine has an 01 GT he just ahd the same problem. He smelled gas at fill ups. The issue was not found until he parked on a steep hill. It was the gasket at the filler neck at the tank. He had Kevin Scales in Inman fix it. Parts and labor were $160

x3 on the filler neck tube gasket our cars are notorious for that gromment leaking. It can be done in the car but it is a pain if you can drop the tank.
