from what i hear the TESKID block from the markeights are stronger but they are both aluminum?, however i know theres several different headcasting variants from them to the mach1s and 03 04 cobras.
as far as performance goes are the heads off the cobra different in comparsion to the ones from a teskid block?

Just about everything you ever wanted to know about 4v modular heads.

Far as the Teksid block they are also in 96-98 cobras and some 99 cobra(that's the year they switched to the ford cast block)
Only 4V 4.6 that DIDN'T have an aluminum block was the 03-04 cobras.

The 99 and up aluminum block is made by Ford and called a WAP block. Both make high HP. I'm using a 97 Teskid block. The thing I'm running into is the 2V timing cover.I have a NPI and a PI cover and one bolt hole is off with the cover. Want to drill and tap the block but dont know whats behind where i need to drill...Going to call Nick Monday and see what he has to say.

after reading the article.. the first generation 4v markvIII 93 to 97 had swirl b heads, and have twin intake port runners which allowed to make great high end power but missing low end power.. which is ok the car didnt really shine until 4000 plus anyway,
but im wondering IF the 01 cobra intake will fit up gasket wise to the twin ports of the mark 8 b heads compared to its regular C tumble port head that it has now. plus i dont have the manifold runner controls that i know of... now with that being said on the back side of the engine i purchased there is cables running to each side of the back intake almost like two throttle linkages... is that the runner control?
One thing i noticed was that they didnt classify what heads the 98 markvii had.. which has me confused, so i checked at work for casting numbers and the 01 cobra and the 98 engine shared the same casting number.. so im somewhat confused until i take the intake off :headscratch:
basically all i want to do is to install her intake and valve covers on the mark8 engine and install.

Mark VIII's ALL had B heads. 01 cobra intake will not work on B heads. It'll only work on 99+ "C" heads.

thats bad news to me :lol1: with that out of the question.. will the b headed intake work in the cobra? id really hate to take the heads off and freshen them up and stick them on the new block set up the cams and all the other stuff ive never done on a modular before... just to keep the factory cobra intake

Honestly that's about the limit of my modular knowledge.
Not sure about if all the sensors plug up the same/throttle bracket, etc, etc
That engine you got does have the runner control(IMRC's) you'd need to get rid of if you were going to use it/able to use the intake in the 01.

If im not mistaken someone makes a set of spacer plates that allows you to put a 99 intake on the b heads. My friend justin(justamach) knows a lot about the mod motors and what all is interchangeable. He does not get on here a whole lot but im sure he would not mind talking to you. Just pm me if you want his number.

thats what i was thinking there has to be something out there.. do you mind asking him where he found it?, but im still left with the old design b heads and runner control valves that i have to deal with.. its seems to me to do it the "right" way is to put her heads and intake on the teskid block, and hopefully have any further issues :lol1: but i have time and im considering my options
