What do yall think about SVO heads? Like for 5.0 cars. I dont know much about them, so i was just curious. are they worth the price etc......?

Ford Motorsport actually made some decent Bolt On Style Aluminum Heads. They were really the only thing available for a while. Then Edlebrock, TFS, AFR started making heads and they really don't sell anymore. The only guys I know still buying them are guys that run STOCK Style Specific classes.

OK, that basically sums up what i needed to know. What do u think they would put down on the dyno, with a good intake, and a custom cam?

I have a set of the old school SVO GT40 Y303 aluminum heads on my 89 LX vert.
Have some port work on the exhaust side mainly. Seem to do pretty well with my power adder combo. Never ran them with a nat asp. setup.
Sure they aren't as good as the current offerings from AFR,TFS,etc but don't pass them by if you find a deal. Got mine for $700 with a set of 1.7 Crane roller rockers.

The original combo on the Coupe was a set of GT40 aluminums with the facory cam/lifters/injectors/rockers. I had a 70mm T/B, stock MAF, shorty headers/mid/catback, and a TFS Street Heat intake. With a custom tune via a diablo chip the car dyno'd 250hp/300tq. After switching from the highflow X to a Prochamber mid, adding pullies, and converting to an e-fan the car made 265/305 after an adjustment to the tune. Stern90LX has that setup on his car now and makes decent power with it. They weren't what I wanted, but my hookups with Ford netted them for $600 new so I snatched 'em. Obviously the car is WAAAY different now, but they make decent power, and down low often outperform the better combos until 4K or so...

They are a better flowing head then the iron GT40's. Plus bigger valves.
Here is some info on the heads.

o ok, so there basically between the gt-40 and the TFS heads.
Have them ported and polished and port/gasket matched for the intake, and you would be set. cool, thanks guys
