Im heading to Afghanistan not too long from now, and assuming I come back in one piece im gonna be putting anywhere from 5k to 8k into my LX project. I'm thinking about a turbo setup, but im not quite sure what im wanting out of it. Ive thought about a twin turbo setup, and im not really looking to supercharge it or dump nitrous in it.

Basically what im asking is when I throw a turbo under the hood, what all will be included with the job. The new headers, hotside, coldside, turbo, intake piping, crossover, downpipe, intercooler, etc.. I'm just needing to know what all will have to he beefed up or changed altogether.

Another thing, how much should I be expecting to shell out for everything needed to make a turbo run good on a stock internal 306

And lasty, what size should i look into? Ive got a 306 with a few thousand miles on it, BBK SSI upper/lower, 75mm TB & EGR, 24lb injectors, 76mm MAF, BBK fuel rails... and thats all thats done to the motor

Im heading to Afghanistan not too long from now,

Thank you for your service :patriot:

Basically what im asking is when I throw a turbo under the hood, what all will be included with the job.

You would start by removing pretty much everything except lower intake down. Install the hotside piping (basically just headers) and make sure they are mounted up correctly. The the turbo goes on. From there you can bolt on your wastegate and downpipe. The alternator in most cases has to be relocated lower to get it away from the turbo. Then Its just a matter of putting the asscesorys back on and making sure your belt length is correct. Also a good time to get a turnbuckle tensioner and ditch that beefy stock tensioner. The you can look at cold side fab....the front bumper has to be removed to mount the intercooler. From there you get your piping set up like you would want it and install it. You will need to put a blow through maf and bov on it at this point to. After all that is done the coldside should be sealed. Reinstall the front bumper. Then its time for fuel, youll need to install a 255lph fuel pump and #42 injectors matched to the blow through maf mentioned earlier. You can then reinstall the upper intake and finish up your cold side turbo piping. Then run you vaccum lines making sure to refrence the wastegate and bov. Tune it and tear it up. I think i covered most of it!

Another thing, how much should I be expecting to shell out for everything needed to make a turbo run good on a stock internal 306.

First off note the internals are not your weak point. Its your block. some split at 450hp some will go to 600hp. Its a crap shoot. For a hellion kit your probably looking 4-5k...you can piece together your own for around 2500 usually.

And lasty, what size should i look into? Ive got a 306 with a few thousand miles on it, BBK SSI upper/lower, 75mm TB & EGR, 24lb injectors, 76mm MAF, BBK fuel rails... and thats all thats done to the motor

a t70 will give you plenty of room to split the block.
