guy at LMR said the 18" sve wheels wont work on my car b/c i have just the rotor swap and didn't do the spindle swap on front. any truth to this? i refuse to do the spindle swap.

it says they fit 94-04 mustang. what difference would the wheels be? i done had 02 gt wheels on it and 18" y2k cobra wheels.

It'll probably bolt on but the dust cap on the rotor sticks out so far on the Lincoln rotors it wont let the center cap stay in the wheel.

Also possible the inside of the wheel might almost....or actually touch the strut.

The lincoln rotors have a bigger center and some wheels won't fit over them unless you have the center machined down or the center of the wheel bored out. That's one of the problems I ran into on my old svo since it uses lincoln stuff and I'm running into the same issues since my '82 has lincoln rotors also. Welds fit good since it has the big center cap. Cobra r's fit but you have to use a spacer and lose the dust cap.

i figured i would have to run a little spacer up front to keep it from rubbing on the strut. i'm guessing i could machine the rotor a little and the wheels should work.

will not fit ... i believe LMR makes a rotor you can buy that MIGHT work but id go by what they say.

Yep,that would fix most all of the problem if you machine down the rotor so the dust cap will sit lower and flatten the cap itself some.

Like embler said we did run into a wheel not seating down all the way (was an American Racing Bullitt wheel) on a Lincoln rotor before. Wheel opening was too small for the center of the rotor. We just used a 1/4" spacer and it was all good. But if you plan on a small spacer it'll be fine far as that part.

i ran into the SAME thing with mine!... when i first got the rims i still had the linc. rotors " thinking they'd work" you CAN get them to work with a spacer but the 9's take up every spare inch youve got up front... i tried running a thin spacer but they'd stick out where you couldnt lower the car any or its eat up the fender.

why not just change spindles an rotors ?????.... seems ALOT easier!

Guess they must have some crazy offset. I had to do all this mess back when I had 17x9 Steeda Ultra-lites. I ran a spacer to keep it off the strut...was out farther than I liked but on that wheel it did work.

I agree though...it's not that big a deal to swap some spindles, lol. Then you get rid of these problems AND can put some better brakes on.

i just went ahead and ordered the wheels. when they get here if they don't fit right i'll just go ahead and do the spindle swap. i didn't really want to but those are the wheels i wanted.

Do it! Why the aversion? You won't regret it if you do. It makes doing a brake job SO much easier when you don't have to eff with the wheel bearings.

It's always a good idea to back up your more power with more brake. Fox brakes suffer enough as it is.
