The new 351 will be a 408 stroker when it's all done.

puttputt --if you mean this ltd then yes. you've probly seen it at the oakboro cruise-in, or you may have seen it in albemarle driving around..if so that was me.

Looking to put some aluminum pro-comp heads on the Grocery Getter for the new stroker motor. anyone have experience with these head or heard anything good or bad about them. This will be a cast crank engine. probly forged rods and pistons though. no NOS or forced air.
They are supposed to be veryvery similar to the victor jr heads.

I remembered that my Grandfather had the LTD wagon, just like yours, a long time ago. :)

that's cool. this wagon was actually my granddad's. he bought it in 85. two years after it was new. and had it till the day he passed. my grandmother sold it to my parents and it sat in the yard for almost 10yrs till it got to the point that we HAD to do something w/ it. The original inline 6 was done, car wouldn't run anymore. My dad was working on a replica 64 fairlane Thunder bolt at the time which is what the 351W was going to go in. He decided to sell that car and his race car and purchased a 67 Fairlane GT 390 big block. So that left us with a perfectly good 351 windsor, so we dropped it in the LTD and been having a ball ever since.
Here's a pic of the orginal 6 cylinder before removal.

Oh, so it had the ford 3.3 inline six?

that would be the one. 83 was the last year ford used the 200ci 6cyl. and the first year for the LTD which replaced the Fairmont... in 84 they started using the 3.8L Essex V6. so all in all the 83 ltd is a bit of ford history. kinda cool having one.

:yes1: The 3.8L Essex V6 are crap. They are known to blow head gaskets. But I heard opposite about the 3.3L inline six. They are pretty good engines. The fairmont was the first ford vehicle with the Fox chassis, which started in 1978.

Well the old man picked up the FRPP package that I posted in the Driveline forum for the LTD GG. Z heads and the RR's to go on the 408/418 stroker. Now we just need a CAM and the Stroker Kit. Also picked up some of these.

Finally picked out a camshaft. Comp has a line of cams specially built for EFI strokers. They only make 2 for SBF's
