Are bullitts played out?

I just bought a 94 gt and I want to swap it up a little. I have a chance at getting a set of chrome bullitts for a decent deal. 9s up front with 10.5s out back. So to see what it would look like I ribbed one off my buddies bullitt to see how I liked it. It's not bad but I feel like a lot of people use them. I want to get a set that I won't get sick of in a month and I want something I can swap between the fox and DD. The other wheel of choice would be the fr500s in silver. 18s though. Just seeing hat your thoughts were. Here's some pics

get something you like. all mustang wheels are played out. as long as it looks good on the car. i know bullets are way played out, and i am the first person to bust balls about it. then i put at set on my vert because i like the look. i hate chrome personally. it peels and leaks.

They're played out cuz they look so good...especially deep dished like in your pics^^^. Cobra R wheels(like you have) were majorly played out back in the day, but still look great. Bullitt's are plentiful and pretty affordable, I say if you come across a good deal on a set...go for it. :thumbsup1:

Yes, I think bullitts are played out, but can look good on the right car. I'm not a fan of chrome anything, so you know where I'm headed... I think regular anthricate colored bullitts look best on SN95 cars

I'd keep those '98 cobras. Don't see those around too much, and look wayyyy better than all the '95 knock offs running around.

I'd keep those '98 cobras. Don't see those around too much, and look wayyyy better than all the '95 knock offs running around.

Cobra R's, Bullits, Drag Lites, etc etc are all played out but on some cars they look really good. I personally would love to find some old Crager SST wheels for my car.

Car looks good on this bullitts rook, however i think I made my mind up. I'm going to go with silver fr's which aren't as played out as the black or chrome version. I think I'll place the order in the next week or so unless I get lucky and come across a set for sale on corral or here.

I know a lot of you guys are not chrome fans but......if its done right it will not peel, flake, pit, etc. and just fall off. If you buy a cheap set of chrome wheels you can bet its not a top quality job. Wheels are so mass produced now that unless you buy a top quality (and thus top dollar) wheel, you are more than likely going to have crappy results IMO. I bought a set of 10th ann cobra's (getting played out fast also) and dont know if I am going to use them or keep my chrome ponys.......

Oh yeah, back to the OP. I think the cobras that are on there look great, I am not a fan of the bullitt's. FR's are still sexy though.

I must clarify. Real '98 cobra wheels are raw. The fake ones leave a lot to be desired and are on half of foxes. Other half run welds. LOL

Don't have to polish Chrome. Soap and water does wonders.
