I have a friend who looked into them and told me to check them out. Looks ok for the price but wouldnt expect to make crazy power with the turbo the kit comes with it

The older 304SS kits would crack, etc. The newer kits are mild steel and have better feedback in the turbo world, still not a BG kit. I would build a flipped shorty header kit if you have the time, $$, and skills. If not don't cheap out. You get what you pay for.

for around 2,300 you can upgrade and get the kit with a 67mm Precision Turbo

Cast iron heads are not the best for boost. They are prone to detanation, where as aluminum heads are better with boosted aplications.

just my:twocents:
if all you want is around 400 go old school cam,Cubic inch, and compression
me i am building a 347 with 11.50 to 1 with the heads i am going to run for me
450 is no problem

A Vortech S,SQ,SC,SCi,Si,etc would do that easily and be a heck of a lot easier to install and work with.

It's honestly all in what power adder you want and how much you can spend on it. A good shot of nitrous would get you there but personally I hate worrying about bottle pressure, filling the bottle,etc..
A good Vortech setup can be found for $1300-1700 and will make more than the stock block will take.
Lot of people seem to be getting good results with the On3 stuff. If I went that way I'd have to spring for the good name brand turbo, wastegate and bov.

I'd trade those headers for some shortys and build our own kit. If you can weld it's cake! Also get rid of that cam while your at it and get one that favors the exhaust side, turbos like that better. ;)

If you have completely no turbo knowledge you need to get ready to read a LOT. Turbo's are not just 67-70-76, etc mm units. They have different trim wheels, A/R housings, etc that all effect performance. I would recommend you go to turbomustangs.com and do a lot of reading before jumping in feet first.

I have heard of on3 but never seen a kit of theirs in person. Check around for a used hp,ptk kit. They make good power. Another ace you might check out is cgfabrications.com he doesnt sell complete kits but he fabs and sells the hard part to build of the kits which is the hot side. As for combo. Its not uncommon for a stock mustang with a good turbo kit to lay down 450rwhp but the tune needs to spot on or the piston fairy will visit you and she wont be leaving money under your pillow! Lol. The important thing to remember is that the smaller the turbo, the lighter the wheels are and the faster the spool. A 60mm would be the smallest i would put on a 302 but ideally a 67mm would make plenty of power at a low boost. The holset HP turbos are cheap and get the job done very effectively. If you want to step up to a better turbo than a precision or garret would be good. Theturboforums.com is a good place to start.

P.s.- there are several different size housings referred to as the a/r. The size you get will effect spool up time as well as the trim and size of the turbo.

My buddy eric ran an on3 kit this year. Stock gt40 motor with a b cam and a 76mm turbo made 468 rwhp. The on3 kit is a nice kit.

Don't go to the turbo forums and try to read about them people say they crack this that and the other but only one person has takin a picture of it.

I will be buy on of the 351w kit from them here soon. I already have my turbo. So the rest of the kit shipped and everything is 1355. It would be hard to build a kit with flipped headers for that.
