Hatch problems

my rear hatch is offset by about a 1\4 " or more to the right side of the car, its flush at the top where the hinges are, but at the bottom where it meets my tail lights its obvious... now im not sure whats causeing it do to the fact that i didnt put it together, but is there a common reason this happens? or is it something im gona have to just take off an diagnose?

If I had to guess I would say a hinge adjustment should work. Kind of like the door on a cabinet. Probably not but a hair one way should do it. I believe that you can take down the interior trim pc(metal not plastic) right underneath where the hatch bolts to and make your adjustment there
