Umm, what is the time frame that we will have to be in columbia? Do we have a time it starts yet?

It "appears" we'll be meeting at 1pm (?). Best if we tried to arrive within a 15 minute window, say 12:45-1:00 when we actually go inside.

We can snap off a few pics before and/or after the meal, then head out for that short cruise for donuts @ Krispy Kreme, or ice cream @ Zestos. If you've not been there, it's pretty much a landmark within the small area they call Triangle City...it sits in a 6 way corner & has a giant ice cream cone on top :) Krispy Kreme is just about 3 city blocks further down the road. We're more apt to find parking (at least together) at Zestos.

From the "sounds of it", the wings restaurant...it's just off 26 if you're headin' down from the upstate, basically at the mall. Directions (which are easy), will be posted up if indeed that's decided upon, but yeah...several have indicated the wings restaurant (Jeremy posted up a few pics of the parking lot if you'll recall).

Not sure of the dimensions, maybe someone on here can messure one. Don't think it would look right with the large foxbody and then the words on the 1/4 window. That is the smallest we can cut the foxbody on vinyl

I took me a lil more than a hour to get to BL to g-ville when i lived up there, its like 99.4 miles away from my house, so it will take yall a lil longer to get to cola.

Well, either you need to replace the heater core or at least bypass it so it doesn't leak on the floor ruining your carpet and the steam from the vents is not a good thing either.

We have to, yes. I spoke with the general mgr (?) and he said we'll need to give him advance notice. The property management (in Charlotte) are the only ones to reserve any parking in the giant lot...it might not be needed, and might not even be possible.

You don't just "show up" under any circumstance. A group that size would be there from 1pm till FIVE pm just tryin' to get their orders placed & then another hour for any waitress tryin' to figure out who got the hot wings, extra hot, etc...

They'd want the same courtesy too...any restaurant. I've walked out of a restaurant after having ordered, and only been with my wife. If the service is crappy, then YOU won't be back, and everyone you tell won't ever darken the doors to the place of establishment either. It's a lose/lose situation.

Now...that being said, I HOPE you were teasin'? :) It's called planning...pre-planning...organization, etc...You have 20+ peeps show up with no notice, and it would be more confusing that a termite in a yo-yo :) Good food tastes bad with poor service, but great service can make even bad food taste a little tastier :)

Bones...when you and your crew roll out, give me a call (or Hanley or whomever) with the total count. Then too, the Columbia crowd who posted that they're comin' is what's bein' counted...only if you post up the day before sayin' you're NOT comin' will the number adjust.

We might get some air time with this :) :) No promises, and that's u/standable. If more breaking or pressing news breaks, then hey...the stations have to run with it. It only makes sense & that's how that industry works, but...

The one station was thinking I was wanting a short segement the day before on the air to promote the event. I told her we're not wanting to draw a crowd, but simply to get some air time on the day of the event...you know, cars all lined up...rollin' out of the lot & down the hwy! Bones can stick around for any interview and bring up the rear!~ :)

I've sent an email to WOLO after speaking with Rob in the newsroom. He said it indeed would be of interest & he asked me to send him an email. I left message with WIS and also with WLTX. Those are the 3 "major" networks (ABC, CBS & NBC). I've also sent an email to Fox news, WACH

Anyone want to suggest a different spot that's more central for the group? A good number of spots at that exit on either side of I-20, ie; the gas station at Cromer and 378, or the Hardees or elsewhere on the o/side of I-20. Let's just nail it down PRIOR to the 17th :)

SEE THE MAP BELOW FOR PROPOSED ROUTE

After we load up at Wild Wings, we can load up our Foxes onto the big road! The interstate will split after a few miles...we'll be sure to stay LEFT on 126 and NOT curve to the right which is I-26. Viewing these signs driving at lightning speeds (and at night), and not being familiar with Columbia...many a soul has ended up downtown when they meant to stay on 26! LOL

Ok...looking at the map, we'll be on 126 coming in to downtown Columbia (upper left of the map). You'll want to be sure STAY LEFT AGAIN once 126 ends and not accidently get on Huger by mistake (just past the 126 icon on the map). Btw, we should be bookin' down the expressway THREE WIDE ALL THE WAY UP TO THIS POINT TOO!

As you stay left, 126 is coming to an end, or rather changing names once it becomes a street...you'll see it, it's Elmwood.

Travel 6 blocks up and we'll turn right on Assembly (marked "48" on the map & in red).

Just past Finley Park, we'll be turning right onto Taylor. If we have a few laggards, we should kinda pull off to the side and regroup before headin' on Taylor...the large post office is there on the right hand corner as you turn. We'll again be ridin' 3 wide once we're on Taylor. TAKE THE 3 LANES TO THE LEFT!!! The right lane will force you to turn right when you reach Huger & you don't want to go in circles You'll see on Taylor street that it's marked 1 way with an arrow on the map...that's why we've got 4 full lanes available.

Once we get on Taylor for a block or so, you'll be noticing the road is grading down each block till we reach the bottom which is the "S" curve...neat, especially when they had the prison there years back.

On the map you'll see the road move to the "S" curve...90 degrees left, then 90 degrees to the right. This is where you see Riverfront Park in green on the map.

We're still 1 way traffic and will be all the way through the curve, across the river & just across the bridge is where we'll need to move into 2 wide formation, cause the right lane ends in an exit! (Taylor Street you'll see then becomes marked Jarvis Klapman on the map once we come out of the "S" curve & head across the river).Travel up to the next traffic light which is 12th Street 1/2 mile up & go left , and we can stop at Zestos a few blocks up, or go 4 more blocks to Krispy Kreme Sound like a plan?

Well, do you by chance have a welder that'll do aluminum (mine is for steel, cheap mig with no gas yet)... I need a baffle in my trick flow valve covers, where the dood that had it before me put a large hole in it and a breather that spews oil like a mofo and makes my car smoke and look like a larger pos than it really in fact is... :)

Also, where abouts are you out of curiosity? you can pm me.

This was the best turn out SEFB has had for any event other than our Foxbody Cruise at Mustangweek.
