2.3 tranny issues

I'm working on an 89 vert 4 cyl aod. Someone put the wrong tranny in the car and it won't go into overdrive. I know it's an issue with the wiring (2 plug vs. 4 plug). Just wanting to know if i can move some wires around to get the od working. Thanks and Merry Christmas to everyone!

I'm not familiar with the A4LD at all, and certainly was never an Auto tranny tech during my time at Ford. Hopefully one of the trans gurus will come along here before long. Another good place for auto tranny tech is www.clickclickracing.com "Silverfox" over there is VERY good with the Ford slushboxes, and has likely forgotten more than I know LOL !

Thanks I'll check it out. Thought i might move some wires around and see if it'll go into od. Do you think that'll hurt anything, just to try?

I dont think I'd try that. I'd imagine that the only thing electronically controlled on that tranny if anything would be the lockup function on the torque converter. I'm thinking something else is up if it wont go into to O/D, but rather than go pell mell at it, lets see what the experts have to say...
