do you mean front strut or rear shock?

Did you do sn-95 or 4-cyl ranger conversion?

The ranger conversion will rub struts with 17x9 inch wheels. It took a 6mm wheel spacer for mine to clear.

I have since gone sn-95 and wont go back.

Threw everyone off when you said shock instead of strut.

Very odd it's rubbing with SN spindles and a 9" wheel. I have 3 cars done that way and none of them rub. One even has coil overs on the front struts and clears.

What wheels and backspacing are you running?

Yeah i thought it was odd as well. We put some hardened washers on the studs to see what would happen and 2 washers on each stud and no more rubbing!! So im going to measure the thickness and see if i can get some spacers thay size. The drivers side was rubbing as well just no where near as bad as passenger. The wheels are 17x9 bullitt chrome rims dont know the back spacing lol they are supposed to be like oem what i was told not too sure:bat:

Who knows. My 90 coupe has 17x9 black bullitts with 94-95 spindles,Strange struts with coil overs.

Sounds like just a 1/4" spacer will be plenty to solve your problems though.

I hope so where can i buy some from? I think a bit of the problem might be im running 98 gt front spindles you think so. but i had another car that had the same and they didnt rub but it had oem 17x8 bullitt wheels

Can see if any of the site sponsors sell them? If not there's a ton on Ebay. Just search "1/4" mustang wheel spacer.

I have 96 spindles on my 89 LX vert which are the same as your 98 ones. Have 17x9 Saleen SC replicas on it without spacers and have also ran the 18x9 99-04 style Saleens on it too. :dunno:

Has to be something about the backspacing on the particular set of wheels you have.

cool i went out tiday for a few mins and measured where it would not rub anymore it measured 8mm which is like 5/8ths? im going to try it with washers first to see where i need to be for sure they are hardened washer so i should be ok to do a around the neighborhood drive right?

What backspacing do you have on your front rims? 5.95"? I have SN95 front spindles and Baer Pro Plus kit. I have a 17X9 with 5.95" BS. If you have a 5.95 BS do you also have caster/camber plates? I have MM plates and they work great. If you have all of that then maybe spacers will be the fix along with getting a front end alignment.
