Details brother Greg, Details!!!!
They are putting up concrete walls, and possibly widening the track 2ft ea. side. I hope that means a new surface all the way down, but I dont get my hopes up with them.

Then just carry the front wheels all the way down........:lol1:
Ware Shoals is where that little Honder hangs out.:taunt:
The race is usually won in the first 300ft anyways, so what's wrong with 1/8th? Unless you believe all the fast and furious movies, you don't see to many races won after the 1/8th mile.

I've been down to Jackson before, yea there are a few fast cars done there. But you son, need to make a trip to WS when it opens back up also.
There are plenty of low 5 second rides and a handful of 4 second rides that run at WS.
And like Greg said, the race is won in the first 300 feet, so why waste the gas on the second 1/8 of a mile???:taunt::taunt:

True in some cases, but not all. It takes a real car to lead to the end of a 1/4 mile and not just quit after half track :taunt::taunt::lol1::thumbsup1:

A few fast cars??????? U must have gone on a off night, i think u need to go down there when "killin time" is down there, he totes tires past the 1/8, haha.(that is of course if he dosent flip in over on the roof again rite past the 60ft) Nah, Orangeburg is a popular 1/8 mile track around here, ive gone there a couple times, but not a big fan of the 1/8.

Bones has plenty of gear for the 1/4 mile.

I've been to both and dont get me wrong I like the 1/4 mile but I would rather drive to W/S to run 1/8 than Jackson for the 1/4
Racing is first from start to stop, so it does'nt matter if it's 1/8th, 1/4 or 1 mile. I have raced the 1/4 mile plenty of times(bristol, commerce, jackson, street, etc....) I don't miss anything when I run the 1/8th. It's just easier on parts, and safer.

Greg, you need to get busy talking to them (WS) about our spring track day!!!!
Then we can see who is faster; the Upstate, Cola, NC, or GA SEFB members.......
What ya think about that??
Blacksheep

O im not sayin one is better than the other, i just prefer 1/4 mile than 1/8, i also like the left lane compared to the right.......

Well if its going to be a state/region battle, we need a street legal car (DOT tire, etc) class, and a race car class, power adder class, etc.

I live 25 minutes from Ware Shoals and the hubby and I race there every weekend- missed 2 Friday nites last year, when we were racing in Commerce, and Bristol. I love Ware Shoals - every track is gonna have pros and cons- but for me and my hubby we have better 60 ft times and et's at Ware Shoals compared to Greer, Jackson, Bristol, Commerce any where- maybe it's because we are so use to it- but I fully support my hometown track and I think it shows by racing there EVERY weekend as compared to people who just come on big race days. You should definately come check it out sometimes. ROBIN :)

Sounds cool, how far is it from the harbison area?
I've only been to a strip once and it was hella fun (the 1 pass I made before my harmonic balancer grenaded my block) then watching the other cars... :patriot:
And got a 2.3 60' time... yeah noobiiieeee didn't realize there was a big water puddle till after I got home and my best friend told me, I was like, fk you for not coming and telling me sooner lol... spun through 1st, 2nd, 3rd... LOL (in my 5.0, after all of my turbo probes were sold :))
Good fun but it was in rockingham NC and that was a 2 hours drive for me.
Since then I've wanted to go play on a track and get my launches down... My brother is friends with a girl whos uncle owns orangeburg or some nonsense so I might go up there with him if he ever gets a 5.0.
But with SC and NC probe owners we rented the 1/4 mile track out for 2 hours before they opened for T&T night for about ~20 of us for about $35 a person I believe... 35 to race or 15 to watch or something was how they set it up, and we got the track for 2 hours before normal customers came with only about 15 cars running for 2 hours, plenty of passes.
Always wanted to do it again... with a new mustang :sad1:

lol yeah I was oblivious and didn't even know there was water there until 2 DAYS after I got home and I was laughed out of the room by my best friend...
That's a little far, like I could probably be in Darlington in less than 2 hours lol
But if theres a good gathering of SEFB (or if we rent the track for a bit) I'm all up for some  my car takes me there :3gears: and home... lol

been to ws a couple of times. to be honest (going to catch hell for this one) I like Greer better. :p
and as far as 1/4 and 1/8 mile I also prefer the 1/8 even though it was easeir to run down people in the 1/4 when I had the 03 cobra. I ran jackson and commerce. jackson strait up hooks but always seemed to have more fun on the 1/8 mile track.:thumbsup1:
at the rate I am going the fox wont be ready for a track pass for about 3 years:sad1:

should be at shoals a few times this year - running my heap and driving a friend's car. i'll try to post up when we go in case other's wanna head out.
wayne's 88 GT - yeah you'll need a helmet regardless. i have a spare if you're ever heading out there - it's just a helmet for a four wheeler but it will do the trick.
