SCT Chip ???'s

I have a buddy who is gonna give me an SCT 5 Bank Chip that came in a 2003 Cobra he bought. He's decided to go with a Sniper tune. Can anyone verify whether or not this chip will work on my '89? American Muscle's site says the SCT chip will work for 88-04 Stangs. But I think I saw on another site where it'll only work for 96-04.

the chip might work but i am pretty sure the tune will not. There are a couple of our vendors here on the site you might hit up for some answers over in the vendors section:thumbsup1:

The chip will work,:yes1: it's the same one I have in my car. Like Leo said, the tune won't work though. I'm sure if you need a good tune, that one of our vendors that does tuning can hook you up with a great tune.

Thanks guys. Hoping to schedule this for about the end of December/Beginning of January. So for now I'm just taking it easy and breaking ni the new clutch. So far I have 450 mi with no problems at all. And the car almost never goes higher than 165*. :thumbsup1: I guess the new 160* T-stat and aluminum radiator are doing the trick.

I had Rick from Amazon Tuning send me a chip for my 93, and its simply amazing how much of a positive difference it made. Fuel trims are dead perfect, acceleration is vastly improved, overall drive-ability is 10x better. I never imagined a tune alone would help these cars that much. :thumbsup1:
