I have a 331 that im building for my 90 model notch. It has forged mahle pistons edelbrock extreme 185 cc 202 valves 58 cc combustion chambers on a 18 degree valve angle rpm performer 2 intake. Now I also have a custom grind cam 228/233 duration 568/574 lift with a 1.6 rocker .Now my block is stock 302 block came out of 97 explorer. My question is i want to hook up methonal injection is that going to add power to my car and does it make it a safer build. I dont have any other power adder is this equal to having nitrous on it with out have any sort of boost or is this just for boost cars. Thanks for the feed back

It's mainly for boosted cars. Meth lowers the temp of the compressed air coming from the supercharger/turbo and adds a little bit of octane to the deal. Because of this meth allows you to run more boost and/or timing than you'd be able to just on 92-93 octane pump gas.
While it can still work a little on a non power adder car I would think the benefits wouldn't be a lot on a street engine with 11:1 compression or less. Just spraying the meth doesn't really add power. Like said above,it just lets you get away with more timing or boost depending on what you're putting it on.

^ yeah, that. The Snow kit was designed with S/C and Turbo cars in mind. I've read some amazing things about its performance in that department too.
On a N/A car, its a money pit.
On the other hand, if you really want the Snow kit, you could always get a Supercharger to go with it. lol

Normally you want a Supercharged or Turbocharged combo in the 9.0:1 Compression ratio range. With Methanol Injection you can run Higher compression Ratio (10.0-10.5:1) and still use a blower or Turbo.Reason being is a Meth Kit will raise the Octane rating of your fuel to around 116 as if you were using racing Fuel.

cool so running 93 with meth would be okay with higher compression i got 58 or 59 cc com chmb on heads with flat top piston think i could attemp to run charger with meth on a stock block 331 stroker

Im sure you could get away with running Boost on that combo with a Meth kit.I would call and talk to Bob Kurgan at Kurgan Motorsports and he will give you advice about this combo that you could take to the bank.He would be the Perfect cantidate to tune your combo as his shop is in Braselton Ga.
BTW My friend Kris that I work with has an 06 Camaro SS 350 with 10.5:1 running a Procharger P1-SC making 10psi and he has absolutely no problems and he doesn't even run a Meth kit.
