In your Garage... "PRACTICE" really, if you have the time and low $ it can always be redone later !

Not hard to do just time consuming.Get you some old hoods or fenders ect and practice on them first.Base coat is not hard to spray but the clear can be.Prep is the biggest thing to remember and needs to be right.

isnt that the truth lol.Base is a cake walk.I cant spray clear for **** lol. Prep is the big thing tho.Sand and do all the body work. Then a sealer primper. Then water sand AND then paint........ i think:lol1:

Its not bad , but to save the most money do your own prep work. Simple things such as removing trim and lights will save you money. It's the dumb thing's like that which take up the most time. There is alot of magazine article out there about do this stuff your self. After you read a few it start's to sound a little easier.

My opinion on the paint thing is give it a go, if you like it you spend ~150 and are fine with it, if you don't like it you spent 150 for a good learning experience. If you don't like it and you think you can redo it better you still have 3-5 tries before you total the cost of a full paintjob...

And if I had a shop with heat my car wouldn't be primer or flat black, but since I'm going to have to wait until at least spring when its warmer... lol

I figured my first time I'd make mistakes, I used some rustoleum paint (home depot) and thinned it out and sprayed it on, it looked real good for 35$ and it only took me about a day to prep it and a few hours to paint it. Made my mistakes for cheap so I'm ready for the real go this time around :lol1:

the turn around time will depend on the amount of work i have at the time ?? about a week is the norm..
