As the title says, one of my door lock motors died. Now I can't unlock the door. The key won't unlock it nor can I pull the interior handle & open the door. How can I get the door open so I can remove the door panel to replace the door lock motor?
maybe use two people. use one to try and wiggle/turn the key while the other moves the interior door handle. mine always opened from the inside(i think?) the inside person can pull up on the indicator rod as well

tried that, it still wont open. I don't have the plungers in the door panels anymore....replaced them with LEDs for the alarm.

Try using a slimjim with the key and someone on the inside pulling the handle. That might give you the leverage to move the froze plunger.

The door panel can be taken off with the door closed.:yes1: The same thing happened on my friends hatch. It's not a fun job, but can be done.

taylors car is doing the same thing, when he ran into the ditch we had to leave it for a couple of hours and he tried locking the driver door. It will open from the inside but not the outside and i can't get the lock up. I'm gonna fix it when it's out of the paint shop

On the way to get gas this morning, I fiddled with the lock switch just hoping that it would unseize just once to unlock the door. No such luck. While I was pumping gas, I said a little prayer asking for it to unlock just once more. Finished pumping my gas & hit the switch. Thunk! It unlocked! Thank God! I got the old one out so I can atleast lock/unlock the door with the key now. Since I've been researching prices this morning, I've found that Ford & NAPA are rediculously proud of they're lock motors!

Yeah - Ebay for around 30.00 - get two - and be sure to take the old adjust J bar from the old 'actuator' and put it in the new one - ebay is where I got my replacement -- works ok - but needs careful installment.
Best of it to you.
