This thread is about my ongoing project GT/daily driver. When I bought this car last year I knew it had been sitting for about 3 years so I knew going in there was going to be things that needed attention. The tires were dry rotted, struts in front bounce higher than any bouncy ball, mufflers were rusted out.......etc etc etc. I know the first events I attended everyone could hear it coming before I got there, but it wasn't a good sounding exhaust. I acquired a pair of Flowmasters from Robert on here......Friday they were installed and new tires as well......Now I'll have to see when I can get my struts installed....here is a pic of the Flowmasters and turndowns....
I'll update this as I get things done..

Funny thing about SC.....I have a Simpsonville zipcode.....but I'm in the Five Forks area off of Pelham Rd and Hwy 14.
That's cool Fairview isnt too far though....might take you up on the when I can spare the time on the strut install. Gotta work this Saturday and next weekend I got family coming in town.

Agreed. Yes it suffers from AOD and 2.73 syndrome! Plugs, wires cap rotor are on the horizon, but just the addition of the flowmasters has made a difference. Also I forgot the left sway bar link was broken and taken off but the right link was still hooked up. Might have made a minor diff in the 60ft times if the right side was unhooked as well. Thinking of going to Greer before the end of the year and see if I can improve on my times.
sorry. didn't mean to hijack the other thread.
yeah just holler. got some pretty knowlegeable guys round here that know how to make stock 5.0s run pretty good. first thing, just get some cheapo copper autolites and throw them in. then we can set the tps, timing, etc. she'll be runnin low 9's in no time.

Looks like a fun project Wayne. Dont fret the long time thing. I've been working on my POS for over 4 years now, and it still has a LONG way to go. When it's done though ( if that ever happens LOL ! ) you'll look back and realize that the journey was almost as fun as reaching the goal...

Wow......I forgot this thread was here.........got the struts in front replaced.....what a difference.........She handles so much better!! The struts were soo bad there was no resistance....you could expand and contract them by hand! Thermostat's been replaced......new set of plugs.....can take it up to 6k before she starts cutting out.....still not much heat so I'll have to flush and backflush the heater core.....maybe if things get sorted out I can start adding some fun parts to the GT....such as gears, control arms and maybe some changes under the hood.....

I made a heater core flushing tool at work. Let me know and I can send you how to do it. Check and make sure the blend door is working and the fresh air door isn't clogged with leaves/crap.
