I normally dont need any help when it comes to Detailing, but i just wanna make sure im correct on this.....

My buddy let some guy "buff" his car (its black) and now there are swirl marks/burns every were. So i told I would fix it for him. I dont know what the guy did or used on the car, nor do i really car. I just want to get it off. So what do yall think about......

A: Wash the hell out of it with Dawn and clay bar, and then polish, etc

or

B: Try to polish it with the paint the way it is. Just wash it with normal car soap and skip the clay bar and just try and buff it by hand with a good polish like Zaino or something like that.

Thoughts........?

Sounds like he let the buffer get hot and burned the clear. If that is the car you wont be able to fix it. I would say wash it real good clay bar and polish.

Polish will hide them for a while. But to do it right, you need someone who has a porter cable, and knows what materials and what they're doing. I have seen my buddy down in FL who details cars for a living, bring back cars with swirl marks all the time.

The swrils are easy to get out, its the burn marks that are going to be tough
