Speaker problems

Hey i purchased a set of Kicker 07DS680 5x7 today for my rear deck and when i went to test them out they started popping and cracking at 1/4 volume, what could cause this?

reversed polarity, bad body ground. old head unit, too much power form the amp, bad speakers, glue on voice coil not seated etc

reversed polarity, bad body ground. old head unit, too much power form the amp, bad speakers, glue on voice coil not seated etc I read that i needed my HPF to around 80-100hz i did that and they seem to be working fine now, but im not getting much bass at all
