Well, my family had a very bad day today. Today I lost my beatiful 9yr old weimer. She became very ill quickly over night so I brought her to the vet as soon as they opened. Within the hour I got a call telling me she is very very sick and needs to be transfered to Raleigh. My baby girl has been through a lot in her life and this was a reoccurrence of something she had last year. She was on steroids and other meds that gave me another year with her. I just could not put her through living like this anymore and had her put to sleep. I now sit here writting this and wonder if I should have tried to save her life, I guess I will always wonder that. You are just never ready for something like this to happen and how quickly she was here and gone. I actually got to say goodbye to her before the put her down my wife stayed with her until her last breath. :sad1: so in closing this may sound corny but if anyone who has a pet of anykind or if you have kids or just anyone please give them a hug and a kiss and tell them you love them for you do not know what tomorrow brings. I LOVE YOU DAPHNE GIRL!!!!!:sad1:

Hey I hate to hear this, sorry for your loss. It's hard when you have a pet and they become part of the family. I got a 14 year old Yorkie that I have got really close to over the years. At least you got to say goodbye.

So sorry to hear of the lose. We went though this a few months back with a cat Kelly had adopted, she to was very ill and we had to have her put down. Got to be one of the hardest things i've ever had to do and watch.

Always remember all the fun times you had with her; and know that she is running and playing up in Heaven now, waiting on all of us to join her one day.:yes1:

I am sorry to hear this sad news. As Scott stated above, we have been thru this ourselves more than once in the past 6 months. First with my Sophie ( who rescued me while I was working one day), then with my special little Onyx girl (who was caught in a bad spot when Chelle let Nodin out of his crate when she got home from school) and last and honestly the hardest in my life so far, my beloved Nacona. I craddled him while he took his last breath.
I feel the loss and the pain of that loss for you. You see, to me my "pets" are my family... they are my babies and I love them as much, if not more, than some of my blood. Just know that you did what was right and fair for your sweet girl. it was time for her pain to end and you did the right thing by letting her go. You gave her love ..more than some folks have the courage or strength to do, when it was time to let her go. Keep her forever in your heart and know you are in hers.

I am so sorry for your loss my grandparents had a dog like that when I was small- he was so protective-
I have 2 babies and I love those dogs with my life- they are my family- and I will be devastated when something happens to them- Pets are so dear to us- I know God puts them here on this earth to watch over us, for companionship, and friendship- They are special litle buddies- I will give my 2 fur kids a big hug when I get home form work- and just remember yours is watching you from above............. its not corny at all. i had a german sheppard mix that was my best friend for 9 yrs. he was struck by cancer and i had to let him go. i kept him till he sorta told me he had to go. i could never handle to see him in pain. i still miss him and always will. i have not had the heart to get another dog since his passing. so my heart goes out to you in this time.
