Please pray for my Mom. She was diagnosed with Cancer today. Multiple Myeloma. She starts treatments today, sounds like a relatively long road ahead.
Plus my father-in-law went to see the doctor today for his back (which has been an ongoing problem) and they gave him the options of surgery 1, surgery 2, or surgery 3. This is a problem, as he can't work if he has surgery, and if he doesn't work he can't pay for the insurance for his surgery. Kinda like being stuck between a rock and a rock.
My wife and I are both the oldest in our families and kind of expected to handle everything, so it is a bit much to take right now. Plus my daughter is now having a crisis of faith, because she prayed that my mom would be ok when she got admitted to the hospital for tests the other day, and now she is diagnosed with cancer. She is questioning what good prayer was doing. I don't know how to handle all this.

Praying for your family and you right now. Hope all goes smoothly for your mom and father in law. Praying extra prayer for your daughter that she may see that no matter how small or large a matter is to deal with, God is always good and He has a plan for each and everyone of our lives.

God has many many different Avenues in which to answer our prayers. He has chosenn not to have a miricle healing at this time, but is allowing the doctors that he knew from before the foundation of the world to lead this grandmother through the "valley of the shadow of death." Sometimes the greatest faith comes when we have to let go of what we think ought to happen in a situation and trust God to do whats best in every situation. Remember to tell your daughter that God looks to strengthen her in every way. He tests our metal in the fiery trials not to hurt us, or show us who is boss, but ultimately for our sake. He will show His strength, we just have to look for it by faith........
Your Mother, Step Father, Daughter, You and the rest of your family are being prayed for not only by your serrogate family here at SEFB but also by the lead petitioner sitting at the right hand of God. Please keep us posted so we know how to continue to pray.

My mom had this issue about 7 years ago. She fought and pulled through it. Many nights were spent at the hospital and she had lots of support to help her.

Our son had recently been questioning the faith he had been taught he should have. He thought his prayers should be answered because he asked and believed. What he failed to realize was that just because God heard his prayer, didn't mean God would show him the answer he expected, when he expected it. God's timeline doesn't always match with our expectations and His answers may not either. Our son said he has a renewed faith in God and His love, since he walked away from the recent accident that could have easily turned out differently.
As with muscles in the body, for faith to strengthen, it will be strained and tested.
We'll keep you and your family in our prayers.
