So now that I've got new rims for my 5 lug, (17x8) the search has begun for the right tires.
I want it to be street/strip capable, and it's no longer my daily.
I'm running a 255/60/15 on the back and would like to keep that width but I would like a little less O/D
Options I've looked at
BFG Radial T/A (not sure if they make them for 17s?)
BFG g-Force Sport
Nitto 555 / 555R
So what are you guys running?

I run the 555r's on mine and they work fine. I would probably go with a M/T radial if you want more traction though.
FYI i have never had the BFG's but I know ppl that have and didn't like them very much

I think I will go with the Nitto's. Not sure if I will do the R's or just stick with the 555s...
the R's restrict me to a 245 tire and I can get a 255 if I go with the 555s, compromises over all track performance but to be honest September could well be the only time this year I take it to the track. Might try to snag some 9 inch rims later to rap in some track tires if I do start tracking it more (I would if there were any good tracks near me.)
as to the front: My options are a 235/45 or a 245/45. The 245 will be closer to stock O/D but will it have any issues rubbing with steering at full lock?

My wheels are 17x8.5 and I run 275-40's on the rear and 235-45's up front. Slight rub w at full R or L where the wheel weight brushes the lower A arm. Steep driveways will also give me a slight tire rub on the rear R or L depending which way I enter the driveway, but generally no major problems.
