New Guy from Race City

Hi guys, my name is Larry Overcash. I was refered to this site by Notch93. Thought i'd check it out, and decided to join. I work for Freightliner LLC in Cleveland, NC. I build those trucks you guys pass everday on the highway.
My current ride is an 86 GT with an AOD. It has a few bolt on's but the motor went south about a month ago. So now im rounding up parts for a budget rebuild. I hope to run into some of you on here while surfing for parts.

Glad to have you Larry! Ha...when you said you lived in "Race City", I almost thought you were from the same town as Quinn! LOL

Yeah...I know all about Freightshakers...used to drive 'em! I drove an International for the most part, but "slip seated" between FL's and Internationals...enjoyed the Internationals a bit more as far as cabin space & a few other goodies. I drove a big truck for nearly 3 1/2 yrs actually.

Haha......I don't think they call them Freightshakers anymore. The quality of the big trucks have come a long way. I would post some pics of my car....but it's not a looker. I only gave 1k for it. It has some surface rust, but the body is incredibly straight. The interior is nice too. But it looks like hell. I've had more fun with that TURD, than i ever have with all my other high dollar cars. It's slow, but i have fun with it.

To tell the truth, im gonna wait till after Christmas. I don't want to get started spending Christmas money, know what i mean? I think it spun a bearing, so i was thinking of putting a 347 together. But i want to do it in a sneaking sort of way. I have some Thumper heads that have been ported twice. I dont know the flow numbers, but im sure they are decent. Although i know a 347 would like a better head. Im just kicking around ideas for right now. Plus, i don't want to spend a ton of money. What do you have that you would like to donate? Needed parts are always appreciated!!
