Walbro 255....

Does anyone know why a Walbro 255 is not as loud as a factory pump???

They are usually louder. It may be because when the factory pump was dieing it gets louder.

Eh... I can tell that much difference. Seems to vary too.
I do know the Walbro GSL392 external pump I have on my 89 vert is a LOT more quiet than the old TREX my coupe had back in the day.

Well, I didn't get the numbers off the pump but the guy I bought it from had good feedback and it works in the car, but the old pump I could hear going down the road with a full tank and 2 chambers, Now with the Walbro I cant even hear it prime when I turn the key on. I thought that they are a lot louder, my stocker worked fine, just leaning out at high RPM. It is in a coupe with full interior and a spare tire, etc, but I can't even hear it standing at the rear of the car when I get someone to turn the key on for me.... Weird.

Mine gets louder if the voltage drops. Other than that, its no louder than my stocker was.

Well I was just scared I got ripped off. I mean it works great but no whine... I personally love the sound, sounds like a KB 03 Cobra in the trunk!!!
