I have just got my car back from being twin turboed and it has a few prob. I was wanting to know if any of yall had these prob. and what do I need to do to fix it. The car idles real ruff sometimes and cuts off when I stop and sometimes it is smooth as can be. When I crank it up after it cools off you can smell real bad gas and it smokes pretty good but I can turn it off and back on and it stops doing it. Also it cranks great when it is cold but if I turn it off it has to turn over for a min. and I have to work the gas to get it to crank. It is doing alittle better since I put a new alternator on it but not much. And yes it was tuned just in case ya need to know.Any help or tips is thankful:thumbsup1:

Pull codes, check the ECT and IAT sensors, starting issue could be the TFI module and stator. If your going to replace any sensors/modules/etc make sure you use only Ford/Motorcraft parts.

I do not have these kinds of problems. I also don't have twins... You'll figure it out and have it running smooth all the time I'm sure.

Sounds like it may be running rich, but you need to either install a wideband to monitor A/F, or get it on a dyno with an A/F monitor ASAP to see where it's at.

The hard start problem sounds like you have installed large injectors (42's, etc) with the stock tune. If so, it's a common issue and can be fixed with a custom chip, but I just hold the gas to the floor when it's hot, lol. Without a full mod list it's tough to diagnose...

He said the car has been tuned in his post above.:yes1:

Might want to take it back to them, and make sure everything is still correct with the settings. Also double check to make sure the chip is still pushed in all the way into the EEC.

It happens to all of us somedays....

Weird for it to cut up at random like that. I know once in a while when hot I have to put the pedal to the floor in my turbo vert to crank but not all the time.

I might forget a few things but I will do the best I can. 306, Holly heads, 303 cam, 76mm C&L mass air, 65mm throttle body, performance product intake, 255 fuel pump ,aeromotive external fuel pump, msd ign., twin turbo,60lb injectors, under drive pullys. I am sure I forgot something.

Yes my car did have some type of wiring prob. but mark got it straightend out as far as I know. Yes I also agree that Mark is one of the best so it could just be my car.

I dont have the O2 sensors in yet but I dont think that would cause that kind of prob. but I could be wrong:lol1:

oh, my bad, didnt know you were having the wireing gremlins too. my car has had a few of those issues also. when i start it after it had warmed up i would have to put my foot to the floor to get it to fire and also had some idleing issues. hmm, gonna have to mention this to mark when i take mine back down to finish the tune

Sounds like the Starting P/W vs. ECT table needs to be scaled for the injectors. But not knowing what was done with the tune before, its a shot in the dark.

agree with the above post. check cranking maps probably was tuned for cold cranking and not for hot cranking. witch would be like cranking a carbed car with the choke still on after it was warm... lot of people have turbos installed and it gets tuned on dyno for wide open throttle runs whitch is great but it still need reall world driving tuning witch will take time and lots of data logging on the street. But sounds like to me your car is just giving you a big welcome to turbo cars. :hi: i have a full fast set up on my car and it was tuned by rick at amazon before i got the car. wide open throttle is great. but street driving is a tad bit rough. not for long though.
