I found out Friday that the dealership I work at has been sold and the new owners basically bought the dealership to put it out of business as it was direct competition for them. We will be open till sometime in mid December, we've been told that the two dealers that bought us are supposed to offer us jobs but the timing on this just sucks. I guess the good thing about this is it will shorten my driving time and distance.......just I've heard that things are slow at the other places and just before Xmas isn't a good thing to be slow. I'm just praying that this works out........4 diff jobs in less than a year to me is a bad thing.
this time of year is slow in the service department of EVERY dealership...

Well, there is some truth to that.......but what sucks is that where I am now has been busier than the ones that bought us out....and there are no guarantees that they will get busier just because they shut us down.

I'm not for this bailout talk but the bad thing about it is it will effect the parts areas. So I do wish a fellow "FOXBODY" brother wealth and happiness.

Service departments are the most busy part of a dealership these days.:yes1: Everyone is fixing their old cars, instead of buying new ones.

Man dude that sucks. I went to an auction Saturday, it was Barber-Paully Ford and they shut down, sold everything that wasn't bolted down. Ford is talking about buying almost 1000 dealerships them self and shuting the doors. Service is really slow right now. Everybody would rather take there car to the gas station and let no tooth Jimmy tinker on it for a month, charge them $300 and not fix anything, but rather screw 10x more stuff up. I just don't understang people.

Well, I have 2 interviews in the next 3 days.......one 8am tomm morning and another one at 10am Friday. Out of the 2, the one I really want is tommorrow. Both of these dealers are closer to my house so that would be cool to not have to drive 1 hour each way.
I saw this online today......http://www.greenvilleonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081202/BUSINESS/812020324&s=d&page=3#pluckcomments it would explain the numerous calls today.

One interview down, one to go. Think today's interview went really really well. It was by far the longest one I've ever had......got there at 8am, left at 10am. Still going to the one interview on Friday am.......things are looking good.
If any of you watched the 5 o'clock news........they were there to cover the story of us being sold....interviewed Mr Norris.....wondered if anyone saw it.

Wayne I hope everything works out for you, and it looks like God has already put everything into motion at the dealerships, and I'm guessing the one in Greer was D&D? If so go to the other one hahaha jk!

Yes, the one in Greer I interviewed was D&D.......and the one I interviewed with in Spartanburg is Vic Bailey......we'll see what happens....I already know which one is the one I want to work at. At this point I'll be thankful that it looks like I won't be out of a job at all or that long. Thanks for all the kind words.....SEFB is the best!

Wayne, sorry to hear about that. Sounds like you got some strong possibilities. It pisses me off that companies do that, especially right before the holidays. I wish the best of luck to you and your family.
