I have a mustang that I would like to put a 460 motor in. The car weighs 2800 lbs. with the driver. I need someone to tell me what I need to do to the motor to get the horse power I'll need to run in the 5's in the 8th.
Thanks,
Johnny

Give them time to see the post bro.
Let me know what are your plans, and budget, and I can help you put something together. Are you wanting to get into the 5's NA, or with a poweradder? Track only, or street/strip?

Stroke it to 514 or 528, the more cubes, the easier to get to the 5s.

To be honest, unless you have unlimited funds, do not waste your time with a 460 BBF to try and get into the 5.x's. I am sure there are plenty of people on here that can help you, you just need to give more details.
1. What is the purpose of the car?
2. What is your ultimate goal?
3. Time frame and budget?
Start with these questions and then go from there.

Stay Big cubic inches, small block style, and 5's will be easy...might need a small power adder to get you over the top...but I have seen a 363 (302 based ) go 5.40's on a small 200 shot

the thing with the big block is that there isnt alot of people doing it u can be part of an eleate group of guys thinking out side the box if u want to stroke it talk to engine systems out of georgia u can build a 557 for the same cost as a 514 and u can have a big block that will have tons of power and torque down low and u wont have to turn it over 6500 rpm and it will be reliable..
