Hey yall, im planning on replacing my SUPER worn out inner tie rods on my fox..was wondering how hard it was to replace them and what all I need to do...also, can I use zip ties or a worm clamp to fasten the boots back on when I'm done?

Replacing the inners isn't that bad, but I personally would just replace the rack. Mine came with new inners already installed. Think about it, the youngest of our cars is 17 years old...most are older than that - stuff wears out.

Price a Re-manufactured rack from the autoparts store. Mine ended up being $20 more then the inner tierod ends and they were already installed on the new rack! Easy way out IMO.

Very easy, one tip is to measure the length from the jam nut to the tie rod end so when you screw in the new ones you can get the alignment close enough until you can get it properly aligned. And yes, zip ties worked well for me on the boots.

Just throwing this out there but will a steering rack out of an 87 thunderbird work? my buddy has one and it looks like mine but im not sure if it will fit...if so i can just put it in and that will solve my leak problem and my inner tie rod problem

go to a parts store website and look up the rack for both cars. See if they call out the same part number?
