In changing from an 86 front end to a 87-93 front end on a coupe.

IMO Keep the 86 front. :yes1: You'll need to change the hood and unbolt the whole front face of the car.

are the fenders the same??

If I'm not mistaken 83-89 fenders are the same. It's the 90 up cars that changed.

Well here is what i want to do. I want to get a 90-93 coupe and put the 86 front end on it if thats possible. I havent seen it done myself. You always see them changed from the 86 to the 87-93. So hopefully ill be doing something different from others. If anybody can find some pics of what im trying to do please post them up. And i appreciate any info i can get on this subject.

so you're wantin to put a 4-eyed fron clip on a 87-93 car? Well hell, thats cool. I think its just the bumper cover and hood for pre-90 cars. but 90+ cars do have different fenders.

From 90-93 the front fenders are either a quarter inch or a half inch bigger. From 89-? they are smaller. That is the only difference.

Only in the wheel well opening, other then that they're the same length and everything. They did it for added room for the 16" pony's.

You are correct, but a 91-93 fender will bolt right up to any 79-93.

I'm actually doing the same thing you are. I have a 89 coupe I'm going to convert to a four eye car. but to change front end all you need is nose, hood, fender extensions, and I think you might need the bumper support with the turn signals in it.
