Well my mom and I were at dinner tonite, and she wants me to take one of our dogs to the vet tom and have her put down.:sad1: She is very old, prob 14-16 years old. We have had her when i was a lil kid. We got her when she was a puppy of course. She cant hardly walk anymore, we hafta pick her up, and take her out side. Her hips like dont move, she takes one step and falls down, she cant get up the tiny stairs we have at my house. Its really sad, she donest seem to be in pain cuz she is not whining or anything. When she first wakes up, it takes her a good 10 min. before she moves. My grand-ma has been keeping her for about 5 years, and Morgan (the dog) keeps makin my g-ma fall down, so we have been keeping her for about 7 months again. And i think its time for her to join the other dogs that we have had in doggie heaven. I hafta make one of the worst phone calls tom. I have to call my g-ma and tell her what im about to go do. And i dont know if i can find the rite words to say. I just wanna make sure this is the rite thing to do. I dont wanna have the dog put down if its somthing small, but its like, she cant really do anything, she is about totally deff, half blind. I just dont know what imma do yet. Any suggestions? I think imma just talk to the vet and she what she says. But i think i know what she is gonna tell me, so im prepared for the worst. Yall wish me luck on this choice i hafta make. I will update yall on it tom. sometime. :sad1:

Thanks man, this is always really hard, Ive had to barry, 3 dogs, and 4 horses over the years, one of the dogs we had to put down, and 2 of the horses we had to put down. Its very hard. Animals are a awsome thing to have. But its time like this i wonder if its even worth it. In the end, all i hafta remember is the fun we had. God help me if i ever hafta put my German Shepard down. I dont know what ill do with my self.

Sometimes it's for the animals best that they get put down. They have given you so many years of unconditional love, and to keep them around just isn't fair to the animal.
I have had to put them down in the past, it's not a fun thing to do at all. But it had to be done. I just lost one of our dogs a few months back, and it still hurts not having that little dog around.
Good luck with this.:patriot:

Tough call no doubt...those that don't have pets might not u/stand. When you said however, "Her hips like dont move, she takes one step and falls down, she cant get up the tiny stairs we have at my house", I'm wonderin' why you let her go for so long? In hindsight, might it have been a decision to have been made sooner?
We had to put an animal down and my wife couldn't go in to see the pet and sign off on the p'work...she had them fax it to her thinking it would help a little.

She has only been this bad for a couple days. She has been kinda well acting like a old dog for a couple months, but the falling down thing, started like monday or tues. Like last week, she was slow gettin up and down stairs but she still did it by her self

Must be that time... it just happened to my moms dog last week but she was lucky enough to have the dog pass away while sleeping. If we could all be that lucky. I'd just put the dog down and tell a white lie for the love of everyone ! The dog passed away in it's sleep... gooduck, D

Well i figured i would update this. I took the dog to the vet, and she wanted to hold off for a lil while because Morgan was showing signs of improvement. And she did get a lot better, she wasnet falling down anymore, she need some help getting up the big stairs we have at my house, but thats just cuz she was old.
So about tonite about 5:30 or so, i got home, and was letting the dogs out side, and morgan didnt come when i called, so i walked into were her crate was, and she had died.
She died in her sleep, mom left the house about 4:45 and she said morgan was snoring when she left. So i dug her grave and layed her to rest beside the other 2 fallen dogs we have had. May she rest in peice, Morgan was 14 years old. :(
