I have a 91 Coupe that has a 5.0 in it, :lol4: (306) and its got a Eddy Performer 5.0 on it(the first version with horz. lines on the removable side), stock TB/spacer, Trick Flow TW heads, shorties soon to be longtubes, etc. I think the intake is holding/ will be holding be back as soon as I get a Power Pipe, 70mm TB/spacer and long tubes. So my question is what is the best 50% street and 50% track intake?? I was looking at a box intake for the shear valve cover clearance factor but it a more high rpm intake and I like keeping around 6200-6500 max. Anyone have any facts on the matter???

For your intended use and RPM, I'd forget about a box intake, and look at a Systemax ( lines up WELL with the TFS ports ! ) , or a RPM II Airgap instead. You'll be happier, and should pick up quite a bit over the Gen I version of the Performer, not to mention the stock T/B which has you breathing through a straw right now !

Agree with the last post.........when you switch to the larger TB and spacer it may pickup quite abit even if you dont change the intake........I'd say Holley Systmax is what I hear the most good things about.....

Eather the systmax or the Trick Flow track heat.
The systmax is more of a blower app intake. But if i was goin all moter or n02 i would go with the Track Heat

Yeah but the old school CAI has me breathing threw a straw. 75mm MAF and it steps WAY down into the fenderwell, I mean like 3/4 to 1 inch small than the MAF!, but these are all getting fixed over the winter. The box intake also doesn't have a EGR port. I like EGR, hold you tomatoes, but it increases fuel milage and decreases cylinder temps under cruise and provides no horsepower loss at WOT, but I digress. I am looking Performer II but I have looked into the TFS intakes also, not biased to brand, just need more ponies.
You could have that intake ported, and it would meet your needs. Othere options are the RPM II, or even the Vic 5.0. I personally like the Eddy intakes, and think they are just as good as any others out.

I am always keeping my eye out for a used intake being sold by someone that went carbed. Looking for a deal. I could port the intake I have now but I would rather bolt one on if I can find a deal on a used Victor or RPM. The need for horsepower is getting too great, I think the TW heads will need some porting or replacement, but in the future...

If it were me... I'd get a RPM II,Holley or the Victor 5.0. Along with that I'd get a 75mm tb,Anderson Motorsports N/A power pipe and large maf. (80-90mm)
Like bags said, what cam? How are the heads setup? ported? what springs? etc

Its a pretty much stock cam. Stroker motor + flat tops + TW heads= Not much lift. It is better than stock but not much. I have a 70mm TB/spacer soon to go on but its running a 75mm MAF now. The heads are box stock TW with factory TFS springs. I want a Power Pipe but they are high dollar, save up some money and get one.

UPR also makes power pipes, dont know if they have any for N/A.......For your combo.....I like the Holley or a TF intake.....EB has some nice ones as well.....

I have TW heads now, so I was leaning toward a TFS intake, but which one??
