What was your first Mustang and what happen to it?

Mine was a 1995 Cobra. It was a white 5 speed with black leather interior. I started off with gears, exhaust, intake porting, head porting, cold air kit and NOS. I finally blew the engine and had to step i up a notch. I went with a 410 cubic inch engine that was making 600hp with NOS. Before I got the engine in the car I traded it to a guy in Dark Corner SC for a fox body. The fox body was black and was air brushed. The air brush looked as if the paint was peeling off and it had bullet proof armor underneath. I ended up sell the bodies of both Mustangs and buying a 2004 Competition Orange GT.

bought mine august 15th or 2006. 3 days beforei left for college. drove 7 hours down, got it, drove it back one weds, did some maintenace to it thursday, and drove it a few hours to college packed full of crap. it refused to start while sitting in front of my dorm after i unloaded, turned out to just be a short in the battery ground cable. wiggled it, it fired up, found out where the autozone was and fixed it in the parking lot.

ive still got it 2 years later.

Bought mine in 98 as a senior in HS. Worked since 15 at Winn Dixie as many hours as they would give me. I saw it sitting at a caddy dealership. An old man traded it in for a Cadillac, It had 42k miles and looked brand new. I talked to the PO and he only used it to go to the golf courses with it. There were plenty of tees and other misc. golf stuff in the seats to prove it. Now in 08 it still sits in my driveway with 104k miles and I drive it every once in a while.

I didn't start modding it until about 2 yrs ago. next on list is a Vortech S-trim again.

My first one was a 85 LX coupe 5.0/AOD car. Got it back in October of 91'. RIP in March 92'. Lets just say touching wet grass with the rear tire going around a turn didnt work out too well.
After that I got my 90 LX coupe in late March of 92' and had it ever since.

My first stang was a 1993 Hatch. Bought it at Big O Dodge in Greenville back in 1995. I kept it amost 4 years. Yes thats right!!!! It was red. Me and a good friend of mine painted it back red with two white strips. All stock motor, put gears in it lowered it and put over $5000 in a stereo system. I competed in several sound off's and won several awards. Guess that is why I can't hear good now!!!!!

My first Mustang......well my first one was a 85 coupe 4 cyl that someone at work gave me and it was in rough rough shape.......once I found the frame rails rusted out i sold it for 100 bucks........my first mustang I had that I ran on the street was a pretty nice 91 LX.....headers h pipe 1 chambers dumped, cobra r wheels 4 inch cowl......lowered springs....had it just about 1 yr. Since it was an extra car and times were tight it was sold to pay off bills and xmas.....At times I miss it but I'm enjoying my GT more.
The LX was already modded when I got it, now I'm having fun fixing things and changing things and seeing what the results are.

my first one is the one you see now. It actually was my mothers, we bought it back in 86 brand new. it was my first car in 91' when I got my liscense. It sat in my parents driveway for a few years after I got married. When we moved to NC I took it with me and put a new top and the gt 40 crate motor currently in it. It has been through the ringer and back and has seen plenty of street racing. anyway, thats my story and I am sticking to it:p

68 GT with a 428 was my first Stang. I was already in the Navy then, and had some cash left to me that was burning a hole in my pocket. I was away from home and had no tools, nor much knowledge. I met a cool fellow that offered his services for my buildup, and I dropped him off a clean/original 68 GT/428 car with 54,000 original miles ( they were DIRT cheap in 1986, so dont stone me LOL ! ) and a bunch of money. He put every part under the sun in that car ( evidenced by the low 10's over 140mph that were almost unheard of back in the 1980's for street car ), and I loved it dearly. A buudy was nice enough to wrap around a tree pretty hard one night while we were drinking. He and his G/F were lucky enough to walk away thanks to the cage and the on board fire suppression system, but the car itself was FUBAR. I sold the engine and some of the trim that was useable for $8500 to a collector, and not too far after got an 85 LX Coupe. I've never had another B/B since...

My first Mustang is a 1969 Coupe Grande. Factory 302 Automatic, Disc brakes, A/C, Black root delete option, spoiler delete option, Med. Emerald Green with Green interior. Now its Oxford white with black interior, 302 .040, built C4, etc. I still have it, in fact I can see it outside the window. It has no plans on going anywhere. Its kinda a rare car being the color and options, also it had hand controls installed at some time during its life.

My first Mustang was a reef blue 87 notchback. The 2.3 had a blown head gasket and I killed it doing a 20 minute burnout :lol1: I bought a 351 H.O. from a 85 Ford van, a 'baby c6' and ordered a 8.8 from MPS. This was in 1999. I ended up selling the car to a friend who wrecked his four banger calypso green, my step dad got the 351w and the 8.8 cuz I owed him money. [the 351 is full of water and the 8.8 i'm not sure about] My second 'Mustang' was a '84 Mercury Capri RS that I bought for $500 in 2001. Boy did I get what I paid for. No carb, no exhaust, no title. It was red over grey with the bubble hatch :yes1: I bought some junk that included a 87-93 GT body kit, hatch and like a corner light. I bought a used offroad hpipe and a dynomax super turbo catback. I put a worthless carb on it, got it running and found out the block was cracked on the front of the block under the passenger cylinder head. I drove to Kentucky to get that car, even ran out of gas on the interstate and had this jevovah's christian missile programmer stop and bust out the GPS to triangulate with NASA's playboy satellite [im exagerrating about the playboy satellite, but he was a government employee] so we could find our way back to our current position [which was RIGHT NEXT TO A MILE MARKER btw] Ended up leaving that car with my stepdad when I moved out. He put a different 302 in it, drove it for a while, hit a telephone pole, which ripped the passenger side control arm and wheel off, drove it home on the K member. :lol1: So, after a 5-year hiatus of building/driving bagged minitrucks, my first ''real'' stang is my current 1995 GT that I bought August 2006. I'd burn through four pages with that car's story. I bought my 1993 GT April of this year, and hopped a curb three weeks later. So now, the front subframes a little tweaked and I need a passenger control arm. Oh, and its stooooooone stock!!! Do I win a prize for being long winded??

my first Mustang was my first car- a 1993 Bright red Mustang GT- my dad bought it for me in Sept of 1993- I drove it off the showroom florr of the dealership in Laurens, SC- It was a custom order car all black interior-a guy in Ga ordered it- couldn't pay for it- they called my dad who was looking for one- and convoyed it from Ga to Laurens- I never saw the car or drove it- until after we signed the papers- I still have her- completely stock- all original- she has won numerous shows- and has just at 100,000 miles- I drove her everyday to high school and college- now she is retired for car shows only- She truely is my baby- I have pet peeves about her- never driven in rain, snow, etc, no one has ever rode in the backseats- no food, drink, no one has ever drove her but me as well- that kills my husband!!! haha I took her to a show at the dealership I got her from last summer- the owner tried to buy her from me- no way- I love her to death- my dad got her for me- sold his 65 Mustang for it- he died a year ago- makes her more special!!!!!!!!! who else has had the same FOX 15 years? Had a 65' mustang with a 289 bored 30 over, Hurst 4 speed with 4.11 gears. Owned it for about a month when I turned 16. My stepdad took it one evening and a lady, drunk, going the wrong way on a frontage road hit the car on the passenger side. Totaled the car, bent the frame...I took everything out of it. Found a 66' that was jack knifed on a tow truck. Got it for nothing and then my parents split up. Needless to say I ended up parting out both cars....It was a sad day!

92 LX 5.0 coupe, bolt ons... traded a car for it, they were my "affordable dream car" since I was 13 and saw a 5.0 driving around...

I finally got one, loved it, even tho it was basically a rat rod style car, camo spray painted exterior (owned by an x army guy before me)

Harmonic balancer went out on it at rockingham raceway (would have gone mid 13s with a good launch) took out the timing, crank snapped, block went with 2 rods and pistons, all shattered in the oilpan when I tore it down...

Got a new block out of a 93 for 120 bux in charleston, rebuilt a new motor, ported the e7s, basic bolt ons still, stronger than ever, hood flew up 2 weeks later and put me in a ditch at 70+ mph...

That was in 4/04, I've had 5 mustangs now including the current 90 lx coupe

89' gt. pretty stock. was my 1st real car.. car came from sc actually. rot free, but it was a bondo bucket. black at that.. not one wheel was perfectly centered in the wheel wells:lol1: it was a fun car for the 2 years i had it, mostly because i could park it, and not have to worry about it... slide it and have no fear.lol.
i ended up driving it to a salvage yard to pick up a NEW front clip still in primer someone installed on a gt and junked. and i ended up spying a lil blue notchback 4 banger with chrome ponys sitting in the yard. i scratched up $500 and came home with it. sold the gt, and have been tooling with the blue car ever since.
the only part i miss of that gt was the trans... that was the only t-5 i have felt that was BUTTER to shift.. and that includes my 87' gt with 40k.

For me it is an Ultra Blue Metallic 1992 GT Hatchback that I still have sitting in the driveway. Purchased it back in June 15, 1999, from a dealership in Hickory with around 92,000 miles for $6,900 including tax, title, and tag.
Turns out I was the 3rd owner of the car. Found the original owners high school class ring under the center console.
Only things that had been done to it was 2 chamber Flowmaster, Weld Draglite, windows tinted, and running horse sticker in rear window. Still had the factory air silencer.

Yea, luckily we went to the same high school and I was able to meet up with him and return it to him. He asked where I found it cause he had looked all over the car and couldn't find it. Apparently he had put it in the ash tray and had hit a bump causing it to bouce up and fall thru the space to the left and get stuck between the carpet and the center console out of site.

Mine was a 04 GT 5 speed triple black coupe man I loved that thing, We accutually bought that car for my wife, I came over from brand X and never looked back, I decided to sell her when my son was born, went like a month and had to have a Mustang ( I had the bug real bad... still do) so I bought the 88 LX hatch I have now. I have been building this thing for a long time, almost 4 years. If I still had my 04 and I put the money in it that I have spent on my fox I would have had a nasty little Modular...
But I would not have my Fox either I like it better anyway!!

well i don't consider it my first mustang but here it goes and don't laugh....... it was a 89 or 90 hatch 5speed 4cyl. (ended up trying to swap it over but didn't go way planned so it was crushed)

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn217/tquinn03/taylor003.jpg

but this is the mustang i got and actually consider my first mustang. It was a 86 hatch 5speed 306. Traded it for my 88 mustang gt auto.

http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn217/tquinn03/dodgetruck017.jpg

then next was 95 5.0 5speed, then 90 calypso hatch 5.0 5speed, then i think it was a 91 hatch auto, then 96 4.6 5speed, 90 coupe 5.0 5speed, 89 gt 5.0 5speed, then 90 gt 5.0 5speed

I'm 17 and plan on having a lot more to come!!!:yes1:

My first Mustang was a '67 notch-back with a 289 and C4 that my older brother bought in '70 while in high school. He took it with him when he joined the Navy in '72. When I saw the car again, he and his buddies had installed an Isky 310 degree solid lifter racing cam, long tubes, burned out glass packs and side exit exhaust. Too much cam, but man that thing had an awsome choppy idle. He got married, had kids, and the car stayed parked until it became a "project" car.
When I was in college, he gave the Mustang to me and we changed out the tired 289 with a new 302 I bought from Racing Head Service (a now extinct division of Comp Cams). Shortly after I started making the car reliable, I began dating Tammy and we later married, then got a mortgage and kids. The Mustang regained "project" status until several years later when someone with more money and time bought it and restored it. :sad1:

Well, my first Mustang has a long story. But to keep it short. It's my 83 SSP, bought it from my buddy back in 89 or so. Drove it for a few years, got married, wife talked me into selling, so I did. A week later I was sick, I missed my Mustang. I followed it around for 17 years and FINALLY got it back. First pic is it in service as an unmarked NCSHP car in 83, second pic is at our wedding in 92, and the third pic was taken last year. Getting a tear down from it's racing days. It's getting restored to SSP spec right now.

My first Stang was an Charcoal Gray 86 4 cylinder hatch. I bought it in May 1988 and wrecked it in July 1988, fell asleep behind the wheel. All that was hurt were my feelings and the car, it was totaled. Next I got an 1980 Mercury Capri 4 Banger crazy as it was I found a 1979 Stang with a V6 and a rusted body and decided to do a heart transplant. I tell ya that carburated V6 had a good sound to it and ran like a top! I hate to say it but I drove that car to the junk yard before I moved to Simpsonville. My next Stang was an Candy Apple Red 01 GT. Loved that car but I wanted an Crew Cab F-150, so I Traded it. Thats when I Got back into the Foxbodies or should I say we(me and my son Nick 86gt). First it was his the 86 Regatta Blue Hatch, then the 91 Blue Hatch that I traded to Taylor for the 92 Calypso Hatch, and finally the 89 4 Banger coupe. So yes we are a Pony car family!:thumbsup1:

mine was somewhat a mistake for as i could of had a 88 gt black leather t-top 3 hours away but no one would take me to get it. so i settled for a 1990 25th anniversary gt. i had months before i could drive. It looked great 3 week old paint clean interior cowl hood and turbines. i was rushed into buying. i wanted a 5spd and this was a auto. but i bought it anyway.

4 years later its not converted to a 5spd brand new motor. sonic blue paint cobras gears tons of bolt ons.

its sitting in my yard and im tired of it just sitting. i havent actually drove it since last may. :sad1:

My first Ford was a 66. Straight 6, Auto in the floor. Interior was perfect and had only 72,000 original miles back in 1990. Bought it for 400.00 dollars and sold it for the same. Then I got my 10th Anniversary Trans Am. All original factory 4 speed. 36,000 original miles. Kept it for 15 years. Only 85,000 made, 18,000 with the 4 speed. On my way to the drag strip one Friday a lawyer hit me in the a-- and that was all she wrote. Alot of memories in the ole car. Took my first son for a ride in it a couple of times. Now the guy we bought it from has it. Frame off, completely restored with factory GM decals still in the boxes waiting to go on. What memories!!!!

My first Mustang was a 69 coupe 302 and a 3-speed. My dad and I rebuilt the motor (my first build) in the living room. Each night we would carry the short block from the utility room, to the living room to put some more of it together. The day before we installed it, we put everything on it, even the trans, and slid it over to the front door. Dad had a Bobcat with a tree boom on it to take it out of the house and install it in the car. It was an expensive cherry picker, and a little overkill, but it got the job done.

Mom has the patience of a saint.

A few years later I totaled it out, we took the motor and built it more and dropped it in a 64 Falcon the we built into a 1/4 mile car.

was a 69 Mach 1, 351w-4V, auto... I bought it for $300 on July 28, 1979 (at 4:00pm) ... just days before my 16th birthday. It overheated as it pulled into the driveway.

I proceeded to rebuild the engine, P&P the heads and install chevy 1.94" int and 1.60" ex valves, Offy intake, Holley 650 DP, Crane Hyd cam (0.520"/0.542" lift, 234/244 deg duration @ 0.050", 3400~6800 rpm), long tubes,..etc.

Built the FMX auto, 10" 3500 rpm stall Fairbanks conv, 4.57 Ford gears (used from a 68 GT500KR... THAT car was beautiful). Maier Racing suspension and upgraded to 4 wheel pwr disc from manual drums.

never finished the body or interior... had too much fun blasting around from 1987 to 1991. Car mostly sat after that... still have it... needs to be gone through... again.

Looks you did great in your 1995 Cobra. I also have a Cobra and I will setup it soon. I will post the picture of it soon. :D
