With these few additions I plan on being able to complete the foxbody cruise with the car under 230 degrees and with the ac on,and the hood shut with no lawn chair under it. LOL! Thanks to the addition of the NC members meets my wife has gotten involved more and she wants to join us for the cruise this year. that also means both kids, so I had to do something to keep her cool in that traffic. I bought a 3 core aluminum radiator and a factory clutch and fan. I know it robs power but if it keeps it cool I don't care.

Nice radiator, :yes1: good luck on it cooling with the stock fan and fan clutch. I have a big Griffin radiator, with the HD SSP fan clutch, and it still doesn't like sitting in traffic when it's hot outside.:sad1: Will be going electric fan soon.

I have a 16 inch electric fan on it now, and it cools like puke. I already have a radiator similar to what I bought in it it is just not a direct fit and it does not look as good. I have been told that the factory fan would cool better than the electric fans do. I have never had a factory fan my car had a aftermarket fan when I bought it and I have had a couple different ones and have never been able to keep it cool.

Mk VIII fan, thing pulls air like a beast, more than a stocker could ever hope to pull at idle, and thats all the fan does as far as cooling, if its really not keeping it cool you might have another issue somewhere?

mine is set up on a VSC and a Thermostat sensor, works great so far.

but hey, if the stocker works it works.

I'm running a flexilite black magic extreme fan on both of my cars and it works great sitting in traffic with the a/c on.

I changed my mind after last weekend, I put a supercharger on a car with a factory fan and it was a pain, plus now yall got me worried it will not cool good. My new radiator came with two 12 inch electric fans so I got busy in the sheet metal shop and made a nice shroud to mount them up. I should have finished pics today.

Good luck, a strong electric fan would definitely cool better than a stock clutch fan due to the constant speed of the electric.

I run a Flex-a-lite Black Magic fan, Meziere electric water pump, Griffin single core radiator and my car rarely goes over 170*.

That should be a nice setup. I had a strong electric fan on my 90 with a stock radiator and with the fans on it wouldn't get above 160. I've got to address some cooling issuses before the cruise as well. I've got a stock radiator in the 79 with a flex fan on it. It does good for normal driving but I've got my doubts what it will do in hot weather and long traffic lines with the ac going. I've got two aluminum's sitting around the house guess Ill throw one of them in her.

ok the twin 12 inch fans were a bust, it ran hotter than before. So just for giggles I put the factory clutch fan on and shroud. I also went ahead and changed the plastic thingy on the bottom and not a minute to soon. I will try it out tomorrow evening and see what it does, and if anybody runs across one I am looking for a mark vlll fan. here are a couple pics of the plastic thingy under the radiator, I think it is the original 1988 one.

Are you 100% sure the fans are pullers, and not pushers?

Are you 100% sure the fans are pullers, and not pushers?

they were either or depends on how they are wired, and I had them wired right they were pulling. It felt like they were moving a ton of air but I guess it was not enough. I got the clutch fan on and ran it a little today. it seems pretty good, but it is not hot enough to tell right now.
