Drive for Diabetes – Elite Audio Hosted Cruise-In – Spartanburg SC - NOV 14

I just wanted to touch base with you, and let you know about a
Cruise-In fundraiser we are hosting in Spartanburg.

November 14, at Sears Auto Center (Westgate mall parking lot)
8pm onwards.

We would love to you and your car club come up, hang out and be part of it with us.

It’s pretty much just a big "Cruise-In" & Raffle,
It gives the Spartanburg Friday night cruises somewhere to hang out, and it’s for a good cause too.

Prizes for the raffle have been donated by local area shops who all came together to show support for this great cause. MeanStreet Motorsports, Top Dead Center, Modified Automotive, NS Performance, Hooters and more!

Cruise for a Cause on November 14 - Support USC Upstate Student Stephanie Mathis Jones

Stephanie Mathis Jones, an education major and student worker in University Communications, invites the campus community to come to the Sears parking lot at Westgate Mall on November 14 (rain date November 15) from 8 - 10 p.m. for a benefit called "Cruise for a Cause." Stephanie has type 1 diabetes, and needs a new insulin pump. She is not covered under an insurance plan, and so she asks for your help in purchasing a new pump, valued at just over $6,000. Her friend Joe Zilano, owner of Elite Audio, together with Sears Auto Center, have put together this cruise in, which promises to be a fun night with raffles for great prizes!


Anyone from here want to meet up and ride out there Friday evening??

I would love to do this but current circumstances won't let me.... this hits home for me... I'm a type 1 as well but 2 needles a day and fortunatly my insurance covers some of my diabetic supplies... I'd come up if I could .... rest of y'all please go !!!! help save a life

Like you said Hanley, many families are affected to some degree with the disease nowadays. I don't know the statistics, but I'm sure it's high!

My brother-in-law passed from complications due to the disease, and I have 2 other brother-in-laws who have the disease as well.

acyually both me and my wife are... I'm type 1 ... she's type 2 .... her mom is also a type 2.... this thing can and will kill if proper care is not taken ..... you may loose eye sight .... maybe even limbs ... kidneys may fail.... a life of dialysis after that...maybe even death...yes cease to exsist..... a few major complications to think about .... hopefully some from here will help this young lady by attending this event .... and I hope and pray the members will not have to attend or have to hold an event for me or any other member ......

I hope the event is very successful for her benefit .... and I wish diabetes on no-one but what would happen if the members came down with it.... would they... could they survive..... I am about to be 42..... 42 yrs of diabetes... TYPE 1 as well.... I'm starting to show signs of it.... bad signs... foot pain...numbness ... eye troubles.... and some others.... y'alll go her this young lady out !!

I hope this is a great event that raises alot of money...........my mom has type II diabetes so I know how it affects you.......sorry I couldn't make it out.....didn't see this until tonight
