Finally put up some vid of our Diesel BOV system in the gallery. This system works the same as any other BOV system by atmospherically venting the pressure in the charge system when the engine does not require boost. (When you let out of the throttle). If the pressure is not vented, it tries to exit back through the turbo itself. This causes what most performance turbo guys fear the most "compressor stall". As the boost pressure surges back against the turbo, it essentially wants the turbo to spin backwards. Most diesel guys have experienced this, not knowing what the sound was. Most of the time it makes a repeating wooshing sound. This is actually detremental to the life of a turbo and does cause dammage. It also causes the turbo to stall or loose spool during shifts, even in automatics. By venting the differential pressure from the system the turbo is allowed to maintain its rotational velocity, or spool. As the throttle is depressed into the next gear, the boost is there much quicker than before. We have found that the system will cut more than a half-second off the quarter in a tuned 7.3L Stroke. It completely eliminates stall and gear lag. We can fit the system to most any diesel as we have designed an electronic control system which opperates the BOV. This is needed because there is no throttle flap or vacuum system associated with diesel engines. There will be a kit form for 1998 to 2007 PowerStroke's if the demand is present. All others will be fitted here at our shop until we can develope the system further. Most off the shelf valves can be used with our controller. Call for pricing.
