The worst Body Shop experience you could ever have…..
This is not your typical bashing thread. This is terrible business that must be heard about. This is what forums are for to inform the world about bad people running bad businesses.
If you like drama then read on...
If you think this is slander then just wait until it happens to you then express how you feel.
Cause I am a business owner and have been put on the frying pan before by slander.
And I would never conduct business like this EVER!!
The story:
Well as some of you know I purchased a 1988 Foxbody hatch back from a member on SFS.net Oscar (ALLMOTOR) about a year ago. My plans were to take this car to the next level by doing a similar build to this car as we did with our project yellow 87 foxbody. We were going to seal up the engine bay and do a wire tuck with a custom candy paint job in a sun burst blue paint with airbrush artwork.
I was recommended to a member on the site that supposedly owns a custom body shop in Miami to do this custom paint job that I wanted on my car. He came highly recommended. So I sent him a lot of business we sent him 2 cars to do, The Project yellow 87 foxbody coupe and my 88 foxbody hatchback. As some of you all know we had nothing but trouble with this body shop when it came to our foxbody build where the car was painted the wrong color and the job took way to long. We started with the yellow coupe to be done first since it was a customer’s car.
Both car were dropped off to this body shop on August 10th 2009
The body Shop that these cars were taking to was Hi Tech Customs which is owned by ED GOMEZ aka (EDs32vM1) Pete Gomez’s brother which aka is (TURBO PETE) on southfloridastangs.net.
These guys talked a big game when it came to doing custom work on all makes and models saying they specialize in custom mustangs.
Now here is the low down on how I got $$$$ed with these dumb *** con artists.
The yellow car was painted the wrong color from the beginning and needed to be re sprayed. When the car finally came back months later needless to say we were not happy at all with the job / workmanship. It looked like a 10 year old kid painted the car and there were drip marks all over the car especially in the key areas of the engine bay which will get all the attention. SO when the car was delivered and we inspected it we had to take it to another body shop to correct all the flaws in the car and the car was repainted in several areas. So yes we were pissed!
We paid this Fool in full for both cars when we delivered the cars to him the first day. Reason being he said he could not perform the work without full payment. Which yes was our first mistake?
Now mind you let’s take a couple steps back Ed Gomez doesn’t own his own body shop he has been jumping around to different body shops that will take him in to split the shop with him 50/50. So that means where he was at when I took him both cars is not where he was at the entire time.
He moved both cars from one body shop to the next cause of his fall out with the first body shop. Come to find out he was not paying rent and fighting with his so called partners.
Now how can 2 body shops work out of one place with one paint booth and take in 20+ cars per business. Doesn’t sound right? Well that’s just it; both places he was renting at could not pump out any work cause of the problems that would arise by sharing the booths. So at these 2 places he has been at he has been taking in collision cars and project cars left and right and charging these customers up front for the work and not performing any services or needless to say not finishing the projects that were started. Since my car has been there he has had the same cars there with no progress done to them either. So come to find out he is $$$$ing more people and has pending lawsuits with multiple customers for the same reasons. Also come to find out he has $$$$ed other people on this site including some of our customers / friends too. ****!!! WTF!!
This comes to my problem. This problem is full of lies excuses and more lies and excuses.
My car has been with this piece of $$$$ for going on 9 months and all this $$$$ head did with my money is not spend it on my car. He only performed the sealing up of the engine bay and putting down the color in the engine bay and door jambs. Which looks like he painted those areas with a spray paint can job with drip marks all over the place. It doesn’t take 9 months to do what this mofo did to my car it looks like he probably has 2 weeks of work done to my car.
Now also understand that the car was brought to him as a rolling chassis.
No engine, no Trans, no wiring harness, and no interior just the shell with doors, fenders, bumpers hatch and the hood. Half the work was done for him all he had to do was sand, seal up engine bay and paint the car. That’s all I asked of him to do and all I paid him to do.
SO as the month went on this $$$$ head gave me every excuse in the book. I counted and documented all his excuses why the car was not do or being worked on.
Here is a couple.
He went with the stupid excuses to personal excuses.
1.Forgot the pay the light bill and came in to the shop to day with no power
2.Its raining so bad that my shop is flooded I had to send my guys home
3.My guys are all sick today
4.Somebody backed in to your car and we have to fix it. This week he said it took all week to fix the car
5.I can’t get the right paint for your car they keep sending me the wrong color
6.I have to go to court today
7.My ex wife is making my life a living hell I got to leave and go take care of this
8.No one showed up today I am here by my self
9.I just took in more cars and have no room to work now got to get rid of some cars
10.Most recent I need to go get my car back from the other body shop they are trying to steal it from me. (probably cause you $$$$ed them and they put a lien on your car just my guess)
Now the lies
1.The car is painted completely come and see and we can have the artwork guy come and shoot the car. I go down and see the car and nothing is done no paint what so ever.
2.I just finished the engine bay come and approve it. 50% of the engine bay was done
3.Come to the shop and see the car I will be there. He would never show and everyone there speaks Spanish so it was a waste of trip and the car was tucked in the corner where you couldn’t even work on it
4.The art work guy can’t come. (Well it doesn’t matter about the art work guy if you don’t paint the car.) moran…
5.The best lie of all is that he said the car was ready to be painted and finished every week for 6 months. He swore to god, on his children on his mother etc… words out of his mouth
So after 9 month of arguing and fighting with this piece of $$$$ I decided to send him a letter from my attorney and file a laws suit against this guy and his business.
His last deadline was April 30th and was the last time he would have a chance to finish the car which he had a half of dozen times to make right. I went May 1st with Miami Dade police to go pick up my car and this is how the car looks when i get there. In pieces; we had to run though his whole shop to find all the pieces to my car

The car was disassembled for paint but all my $$$$ was laying under other project pieces all around the shop. It looked like he didn’t even spend any time on my car and he threw everything in piles like a junk in the corners of his shop.
So the moral to this story is be careful who you are recommended to and what you pay for when you deal with a body shop cause they could be dumb *** con artist business men like this $$$$ing fools.
These guys may have some cars that were done at their shops and may look good at shows but remember that these are not the guys physically painting the cars they have minimum wage employees painting the cars they are just the ring leaders of the circus.
DON’T USE HI TECH CUSTOMS with
ED GOMEZ OR PETE GOMEZ
FOR ANY WORK TO YOUR CARS THEY WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE HELL AND $$$$ UP THE CAR DURING THE PROCESS.

Now I know Pete (Turbo Pete) will love to jump on this thread and justify and protect his brother but anything you say will not make anything better and don’t think you can be the problem solver with this situation like you try to be when ever $$$$ get brought up about you or your brother.
