Here is the first batch of pictures with my new D40 this morning. Must say I love it even though I am just scratching the surface with it. I adjusted the settings a little but still really have no clue what all it can do. Any positive or helpful tips are much appreciated!! More to come later in other threads.

That's all it is when it comes to photography. Nice scenery shots though!

Like Ozz said practice makes perfect. I'm stil learning with mine too. I'm sure Kyle ( roadconetuning) or Andy ( Nova) will chime in with some pointers. That is where I get mine from

Yeah. I ain't got a F'n clue how to change any settings to anywhere close to what I need.

shoot on auto for a bit and try to keep an eye on the settings its using... it'll help you get an idea with as to what you need to set stuf at...

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!! that is the BIGGEST thing you need to do, if you cant find the setting then its impossible to set it... the nikon manuals are AWESOME

Yeah I know. I flipped through them for a sec but I gotta sit down and read them one night this week.

If you dont know much about cameras and their settings...it'll blow your mind at first...just go out and shoot and change a few things,till you find out what does what.....Thats what I have been doing the past few months,and I have got some killer shots here and there:thumbsup1:

mountain shots look nice. i gotta read my manual this week and "learn up" on takin pics. for now tho auto is win.
